PowerQuest Drive Image 2002Weakness: not stable Installed no problem and made emaergency floppies. But program wants to make a "just in case" back up to my CDRW drive before it re-partitions my C: drive to make room for the image. But during this "Initial Backup Wizard" everything seems okay but after two CDRW are filled up the computer froze.

PowerQuest Drive Image 2002Strengths: Valuable tool for IT Professionals. Can easily duplicate a good image for multiple new computers for use on a network or stand-alone configuration. Saves companies time and money. Weakness: Could use Norton Ghost's ability to do a network "push" to multiple systems at once. I have been using this product for a little less than a month and found that it has saved my company time and money to use. I have duplicated 15 new systems (each usually needs 4 hrs each to configure with our software), and have cut my time to 1 hr per machine. This panned out to be 75 hours of saved time.

PowerQuest Drive Image 2002Strengths: Does what it is intended to do Weakness: Unadvertised limitation I received the following information from Power Quest after failing to create a 40GB image on a 120GB drive, leaving 80GB free: "Although Windows may be able to make a partition larger than 64GB, our programs do have a 64GB size limit for FAT32. Currently, there is no work around for this. There is no limit for NTFS partitions" My 120GB drive had a 64GB partition containing a 40GB image, but, the...

PowerQuest Drive Image 2002Strengths: Works, will save your system when trouble happens! Pretty easy to use software. Weakness: Forces you to run in a DOS-like environment with boot disks. I have created backups and happy I have. It's saved my hard drive's partition containing XP Home on it a few times. It's an easy to use program, and works great. I store backups on cd-rw media, the rewriteable discs, not the one time use, at least not usually. It reads them fine. I've heard of media that it works crappy with. Well, SmartBuy cd-rws it does work. When specifying the location for...

PowerQuest Drive Image 2002Weakness: Almost no technical support I am not going to buy this latest version of Drive Image. I'd like to warn others of my experience. I've used Drive Image vers. 4 and 5, and when they refused to load I couldn't get any help from PowerQuest. They had a place to leave questions via email, but the answers were clearly boilerplate, telling me to do what I had just tried to do. Norton Ghost is more complicated to use, but Symantec...

PowerQuest Drive Image 2002Strengths: Can make images from Windows 2000 Weakness: Attempts at imaging from Windows ME failed On my system Drive Image 2002 has worked poorly. I have 2 hard drives, one 80 GB, and the other 30 GB. There are 4 partitions on the 80 GB hard drive, 2 partitions containing Windows ME, 1 with Windows 2000, and an extended partition for data. Running Windows 2000 I can make images of the other partitions just fine. However, running Drive Image 2002 from either of the Windows ME partitions...

PowerQuest Drive Image 2002Strengths: none Weakness: Does not support new high speed (10X) CDRW drives, they want you to " throttle back " (Their words) the speed fo the drive, even though their web site does not give the steps to acomplish this . Computer kept locking up after, 2 the first time and three CDRWs the second time, tried different media (all 10 X) but still locked up at the "closing media " screen. This is during the first run thru were the program wants to back up to CDRW before re-partitioning the drive to store the image for later back ups. Also see at there web site has no free 30 day or initial support, everything is fee...

PowerQuest Drive Image 2002Strengths: Works (mostly) Weakness: VERY POOR SUPPORT!!!! Asked tech support if there was an ability to search for a particular file within the image explorer. Was told to read the documentation. When I explained that I had exhausted all documentation I was told to read the documentation. When I asked for a specific page reference I was told to read the documentation. I have owned PowerQuest products for years and have always been disappointed in their...

piece of junkStrengths: none what so ever Weakness: Doesn't work at all I first bought Drive Image 2002 and tried it with two of my machines, one with NT 4.0 and the other with XP. Both the PCs have the latest service packs. The software didn't work. I then bought Drive Image 4 and still, I was not able to even get started. It constantly erroed out and documentation was of no use either. I am not so much sorry for the money I put in it as much I am sorry for all the... Advertisement

PowerQuest Drive Image 2002
Strengths: None
Weakness: Does not perform as described.
Minimal documentation. The product documentaion is just a few pages long and does not convey the full extent of steps necessary to actually perform a complete hard drive back up and restore. This product actually rendered the drive I was trying to back up inactive and would not boot frtom the new drive. If you value your data watch out using this one! I spent 70 dollars on this piece of crap...
