ABIT KR7A- Raid Socket A PC1600/PC2100 DDR, VIA...

Strengths: The BIOS setup is great, especially its ability to set the CPU speed instead of using jumper settings that can end up frying your processor if done wrong. Temp. and fan speed monitoring software helps keep my system healthy. I could go on; but now for s

Weakness: RMA process (see below).

EXCELLENT motherboard!! It is rare that I find hardware - let alone a manufacturer - that provides such quality and support. I would have given this board 5 stars but couldn't due to the experience I had returning my board for warranty service. My board recently failed and I had to send it back. The whole process was excruciating since the ONLY way to get an RMA is through their RMA web site -...

ABIT KR7A- Raid Socket A PC1600/PC2100 DDR, VIA...

Strengths: SPEED! Overall performance and stability of this board is strong, though user know-how is important to acheive it. Easily overclocked and flash ROM updated. Good layout and RAID a certain plus.

Weakness: Documentation could be better (like all boards) and the additional DDR slot DOES NOT work with just any brand of DDR! Support for APIC mode? For what? But that's a trivial BIOS issue.

Have set up 6 PC's using this board. Two were a nightmare, the others, a cake walk. RAID set up is very simple and straightforward for HI POINT. No undue headaches for CPU configuration. Be certain to have a firm grasp of BIOS configuration before you delve into the OC capabilities, you can make a mess quickly, otherwise. Clear the CMOS after flashing updates! Could use a better VGA active...

ABIT KR7A- Raid Socket A PC1600/PC2100 DDR, VIA...

Strengths: Great bios, easy setup. Fast and inexpensive

Weakness: Raid controller interface position on the board.

I love this board. I upgraded from the Abit kt7a-raid to this board. It runs stable overclocked, everything runs very cool with my Athlon XP 1800+. The bios in this board are the best out there. Jumperless overclocking is the best. I didn't even have to reinstall windows Xp pro when I switched boards. I wish the raid controller interface was next to the IDE interface like the kt7a-raid. I even...

ABIT KR7A- Raid Socket A PC1600/PC2100 DDR, VIA...

Strengths: Its fast!!! Ease of setup. Great manual. Onboard RAID.

Weakness: You need to make sure to push everything thing in very securely, IE Ram, Video and Sound cards as well as other PCI, etc. I had a problem until I took the ram out and put it back in.

Great Board. I'm very happy with the board that ABIT has put together, I never ran into a hardware issue and I'm done with the computer now. The thing has yet to do anything unexpected and I'm completely happy with it. The Best MB I've bought yet.

ABIT KR7A- Raid Socket A PC1600/PC2100 DDR, VIA...

Strengths: This being the first system I've built, found the soft menu bios and onboard highpoint raid controller easy to setup and work with. Great all around board.

Weakness: None so far.

Great board for home or office, raid offers performance and runs very stable. KT266A chip set also enhances performance, Great job Abit. Look forward to working with Abit components on future projects.

ABIT KR7A- Raid Socket A PC1600/PC2100 DDR, VIA...

Strengths: None that I know of yet but if I only find as many as are in the KT7A I already own, Ill be happy.. I am now running a simulator on a KT7A raid board from Abit, WHAT A GEM OF A BOARD

Weakness: NOT A ONE

I purchased the KR7A Raid tonight. I cant wait for it to get here. I bought it rated on the experience i had with the KT7A I own now. Then I read all the ratings from many sights and boy am I ever impressed, but not to my surprise. Abit has been making no nonsense boards for quite some time now and they are PRECISION MADE for that precision minded tweaking nut. I must say, I just purchased a lot...

ABIT KR7A- Raid Socket A PC1600/PC2100 DDR, VIA...

Strengths: lots of PCI slots! no onboard anything! Fast and stable! 4 ram banks!

Weakness: None yet

Great Board for overclocking..I am running a 1.4 Athlon rock solid at 1588...it will post over 1.6 but random reboots..Keep in mind that this is with everything tweaked to the max..ram at cas2 and all memory settings to the max. lots of adjustments in Bios for voltages, clock speeds, ram timings etc. I switched from a new MSI Athlon760 board to this one and don't regret it and I loved the MSI!...

ABIT KR7A- Raid Socket A PC1600/PC2100 DDR, VIA...

Strengths: Very stable ,fast and reliable. In my experience Abit has done it again. This is the very best Athlon board in the market.

The board is great with 4 memory banks 6 pci slots,it is totally jumperless. It is definetly the best board out there for the hardcore gamer.I highly recommended. The raid is easy to setup. If gaming is your thing this DDR baby is the way to go.

ABIT KR7A- Raid Socket A PC1600/PC2100 DDR, VIA...

Strengths: Everything

Weakness: Nothing

This board is great. I previously had the KT7A-Raid board and the KR7A totally blows it away! I wouldn't use any other board right now.

ABIT KR7A- Raid Socket A PC1600/PC2100 DDR, VIA...

Strengths: ATA133 raid, up to 8 IDE devices. 6 USB-2 on mobo and 4 more via 2 connectors on mobo.

Weakness: Took me awhile to get bios running stable as it was very quirky.

1900+ XP CPU. 512 megs PC2100. GeForce 2 GTS. Audigy Gamer. 40 Gig Maxtor ATA100. DVD & CDRW. Once BIOS changes were made it ran sweet. Slapped it in an aluminum case and it runs cool and fast. I can't stop thinking about it! I think I'm in love.
