Strengths: Very Light, Long Lasting Battery, and plenty of included memory.
Weakness: Does not have a compact flash type II slot built in.
My work gave me a 3850 about 1 month ago. I have use it extensively ever since. It works very smooth with Outlook 2002 and Windows XP Pro. It does have a very handy secure digital slot making it a nice match with a Kodak digital camera. If for some reason you need dial-up modem access that will cost you anywhere from 40-130 dollars in accessories because of the lack of a compact flash Type II...
