ASUS P5WDH DeluxeStrengths: Latest generation; support Intel Conroe Core2Duo; tons of features Weakness: DH remote has never worked; poor tech support; expensive; hard get I was quick to buy this board, as it was one of the first to support the new Intel Core2Duo's. I have had it for over two months now, and in general, I am happy. I have not had stability issues like others. Although, I have yet to get the DH remote control working at all! Never gets recognized, no matter what I do. Windows sees it there, but their utility doesn't. Not a deal killer, but I'm tired...

P5W DH Deluxe Motherboard (Core2 Duo/ Core2 Extreme,...Strengths: Nice features for enterment and wireless connection Weakness: NA The motherboard's layout seems odd for sata connections, which are located on dramatically different locations for SATA 4 and SATA 1~3. Also IDE 2 connector is layout on very far from the edge. It should be layout closer with main IDE.

ASUS P5W DH Deluxe MotherboardStrengths: Good value for the money. On board audio is very good. Includes many cables that don't have to be purchased separately. Weakness: SATA slots and regular IDE slots do not interact very well. Have only been using for 5 days. The only problems I have had are with the IDE and SATA slots. The motherboard has a hard time recognizing ATAPI(DVD/CD)devices plugged into IDE slots when SATA drives are used. I had to purchase an Ultra ATA card and use that for the DVD/CD drive. Overall, I think the motherboard is performing excellently with my 2 Core Duo 6600 and 2 mg 800mg RAM. I thought it...

P5W DH Deluxe ReviewStrengths: Very easy to add all components. Fits very well into my box. Weakness: Need additional SCSI card...but its nice No issues at all. Was able to install on the box without issues. Installed it on the Zalman home pc box. Very quiet. Was easy to cover clock the processor. Built in wireless card was very good and used it in one step. nice support for multiple ATA drives.

Asus P5W DH works greatStrengths: Crossfire ready, 3 legacy PCI slots, lots of cables and stuff in box, worked immediatly with no problems Weakness: Manual could explain some items better. According to manual, only one of the two chassis fan 3-pin power hookups on the board is available with the Chassis Q-Fan function in the BIOS. I have fans hooked up to both chassis fan connectors and both can be speeded up or down using the bios and software in windows that comes with the board. I've had no problems and would recommend this board.

Great Core 2 Duo Motherboard, Best for overclocking,...Strengths: Tons of new features like the remote and wi-fi built-in. I personlly like the noise off feature, which at the click of a button, it reduces the speeds of all the fans to make the system very quiet. Weakness: The BIOS seems to be holding the processor back and it is hard to get a high FSB when trying to overclock. Hopefully they will keep updating the BIOS and get a good version out soon. Some tips are make sure that you take off the north and south bridge covers, since the are just for show and removing them will help in getting them cooler. Also change thermal paste under them, since they just use some weak adhesive. Reinstall them with some Arctic Silver 5 and it should drop your temperatures by about 6-10C.

ASUS flagshipStrengths: Plenty of features, very stable, absolutely quiet, good compatibility Weakness: High price Overall very good motherboard with great features. With new BIOS revision runs Core 2 Duo flawlessly and quite efficiently. The chipset has passive cooling so you will not hear any noise but the board runs fairly hot even in idle (mine 45C). I love that little remote that comes with the board but unfortunately it's somehow limited and can control only foreground application. Not the last thing...

Asus P5W DHStrengths: Board has a nice layout with copper heatsinks on chipsets. There was plenty of room for my Zalman9500 heatsink. BIOS is easy to use and Raid setup is fairly straight forward. Weakness: Windows was unable to locate 74gb Raptor hard drives even though they showed up in BIOS. I tried several drivers and even tried installing without raid and could not get Windows to locate the drives. I truly am disappointed with this motherboard. Asus usually produces some of the best boards but this one is very problematic. Even with up to date drivers, I was unable to install windows and finally exhanged the board for a 680i motherbaord.

Asus P5W DH Deluxe, 975X Core 2 Duo Ready Motherboard
In the final analysis we'd say the Asus P56W DH Deluxe is a great new motherboard to base your first Core 2 Duo system build on. Its performance is first-rate, it's decked out with a multitude of trimmings and integrated features and overclocks like nobody's business. Taking the plunge on one of these new motherboards from Asus may cost you a bit more but if you want all the bells and whistles,... TopAdvertisement

Disappointing
Strengths: Packed with features.
Weakness: Expensive. Problematic
As many other reviews note, this board is both expensive and plagued by problems. BACKROUND The system was built to replace an AMD 3200XP which has performed wonderfully for 3 years, but is showing its age with newer software. I had decided to replace the system with an AMD X2 3800. With the advent of Core 2 and the X2 5000s, I chose instead to go with the AMD X2 5000. DECIDING PURCHASE FACTORS...
