Red Hat Linux 9 PersonalStrengths: Well supported, well documented, easy to install, consistent user interface Weakness: Compared to Windows and other major Linux distributions, Weaker in multimedia applications supported because of their decision to only make available applications with freely available software. Red Hat Linux 9 Personal is Red Hat's best effort to date in the personal desktop system space. Red Hat Linux 9 PersonalStrengths: Well arranged graphical displays, easy installaton and fairly easy operation if you know linux. I has the great advantages of Unix text management. Weakness: NO installaton manual at all, hardware support needs a second thought, no Internet setup support at all even they ask you to register but you are on your own if you are in trouble. I have two ISP Comcast for my cable and AOL for regular modem but no Linux support. Finally I made the cable modem work (naturally without redhat help)and started my communication with redhat about sound and lockups and other things.... Advertisement

Red Hat Linux 9 Personal
Strengths: The "How To?" books saved me a lot of time on REDHAT, and its a whole lot cheaper then Micro$oft$ Windows, nice software bundle(comecs with over 5Gig's of software) just hade to get XMMS for MP3.
Weakness: Its more of a buisness linux then a personal desktop, and the startup is slow as hell no matter how fast ur computer is.
Its a whole lot better then RHL 8.0 just needs a few tweaks hear and there, the best instller ive seen yet, and has a user friendly desktop that i prefer over Windows anytime, and is great for gaming, just get WineX from transgaimg.com (u just have to fork over 15 dollars) and in no time ull be playing ur favorite games like Counter-strike, battlefield, or everquest. all in all its an awsome OS,...
