Very good product, have used three years running

Strengths: Ease of use, tax subject coverage, importing of W2's. Multiple entry options throughout. Integration to past information for basic entry and comparisons/analysis.

Weakness: Not sure if this is TurboTax or the sources, but trying to get 1099 information has never really worked well. Would like it to work like the W2 import process, instead of web site sign-on.

We have a multitude of income and expense/deduction options every year, and TurboTax Home & Business covers all of them to my satisfaction. Some of the tax areas are the same for me each year, so they are very quick and easy to input. There are new ones too, and TuboTax allows me to easily switch to a guided mode for help. I'm sure there are competitive products that may have some better features...

Taxes made easy

Strengths: Cheaper than an accountant, easy to follow, clear pop-up explanations

Weakness: None

A few years ago I made the move from seeing an accountant on a regular basis to using TurboTax Home & Business. I'm very glad I made the switch. TurboTax has always been easy to use, and the 2007 ed. is no exception. I'm not particularly savvy about filling out tax forms, but TurboTax is very good at explaining everything I need to know. One important feature is that the screens do not provide...

Good product - the de facto standard in...

Strengths: Online updates for changing IRS laws. Comprehensive functionality.

Weakness: Interface changes from year to year - must re-learn. Good features get removed/replaced with "simpler" ones that are less functional.

TurboTax Home and Business is a good all-around product. I probably wouldn't buy a different tax prep package since I've been using TurboTax for several years and I like the ability to import from a previous year's file and also to import from Quicken/Quickbooks as well. My one main complaint is that the product changes too much from year to year and sometimes some useful features are obscured...

Home and Business 2007

Strengths: Good interface to accounting software (Quicken, Money, etc).

Weakness: Focus is on income rather than deductions. Would like to be more agressive in locating business deductions.

I have been using this product for my 1040 Schedule C business for several years. It does the best of all the products I have reviewed for interfacing with my Quickbooks and Money accounts. It does appear to focus more on the capture of income, to insure you do not miss any income, rather than focus on deductions. I would like to see more aggressive deduction finder for business related expenses.

TurboTax Home & Business 2007

Strengths: very user friendly to use - no problems using this product.

Weakness: you have to pay extra to efile return - one free efile should be included - years ago they did include one free efile

Very dependable tax return product - highly recommend this for all who file their tax return from home. I have been using the Turbo Tax program for several years would not use nothing else.

Same as it ever was....

Strengths: Does the math for you. Program is slightly easier to use than last year. Interview is more streamlined. Ability to save tax returns as PDF files for records.

Weakness: Could use the online help beefed up more.

Much easier to use the program than to do your own taxes -- although I admit that I do understand the tax code less than if I did my return the old fashioned way. Still, it does save time and frees you from having to worry about math problem. One thing to recognize about all tax software is that your return is only as good as the data you put into it -- garbage in, garbage out. The program will...

May not need more than TurboTax Deluxe

Strengths: Clearly and easily leads you through

Weakness: May not need more than TurboTax Deluxe

Clearly and easily leads you through all the possible income sources and write-off categories. All TurboTax versions could use the following add'l features: 1) to allow you to jump back & forth between your federal and state tax returns 2) to allow you to jump to a certain income or writeoff category instead of having to navigate through each category to get to the category you want to review or...

TurboTax--still the best

Strengths: Ease of use

Weakness: Filing fee.

It keeps getting easier, year after year. The interview seems very comprehensive and easy to understand. The filing fee of $17.95 seems a little high, but it's still worth it.

TurboTax Home and Business 2007 (Full Product)

Strengths: Ease of use

Weakness: Some ambiguous areas of understanding/verbage w/instructions

I have used TurboTax products for several years and have found them to be easy and simple to use. I would highly recommend them to everyone. The TurboTax has expert advice for questions that may arise through the process of the return and I have never experienced the IRS questioning the return due to errors from tax input.

Turbo Tax Home & Business

Strengths: Like the question interface.

Weakness: Not as organized as Taxcut

I bought taxcut also and the calculations are different. I'm not sure which one is correct at this point. There is a major difference in the section 179 calculations for a vehicle.

Intuit TurboTax 2007 Home & Business

THE GOOD: TurboTax 2007 introduces an Audit Risk Meter; integration with ItsDeductible to manage charitable contributions; Live Community support; improved interview. THE BAD: TurboTax 2007 is pricier than TaxCut; transferring data from a prior return didnt work in one case; the Home & Business edition didnt make it clear we could enter personal income first; live tech support could be more...
