I used Macro shot often thus abit...

Strengths: - Sleek appearance - Manual control - Sharp & crystal clear Images - Fast upload & download images - Accurate preview image(s) when digitally zoomed - Good & User-friendly bundle software

Weakness: - Slightly heavy - Should have a better Macro - Low Battery lifespan - Low digital zoom - Heats up easily

I used Macro shot often thus abit disappoint on its low efficiency on the Macro shot-up. I realised that I dun need the high end mode of this camera thus abit heartache over the money wasted on functions that I wont be using alot. Although I must admit that to maximize my every penny, I read up alot on photography books and information. Thus another skill pick up. I would say this camera is...

There are a lot of good things to...

Strengths: Good picture quality. Flexible picture-taking controls. Small size.

Weakness: Rocker switch difficult to use: often make mistakes. Lens cover malfunctioned. Difficult to get good lighting with flash. Macro mode doesn't get very close.

There are a lot of good things to say about the S30 but there are some BIG negatives too. First, the lens cover started misbehaving. If I put any pressure on the bottom half (where you normally hold the camera), it would shut off as if I was closing the cover. Second, when I sent the camera to Canon for warranty repair, they conveniently wiggled out of it by claiming that a dent on the rear of...

Great camera, my first digital,...

Strengths: Very intuitive, easy to use.

Weakness: Buttons are very sensitive to moisture, spray, etc.

Great camera, my first digital, excellent performance for the price ($100 less than six mths ago). I am pleased with it overall. Easy to use, a bit bulky to carry in a pocket. Auto Mode takes care of most of my needs. I purchased it prior to deploying w/ the Marine Corps to the Gulf of Aden (vic Yemen). Pretty rugged, the camera was exposed to 110 F heat and high humidity for about 3 mths. The...

Between vacations and family...

Strengths: easy to use. many parts came with the package, didn't have to buy all xtras separately. Great pictures and flexability

Weakness: None found yet

Between vacations and family projects I have taken over 2000 pictures so far with it and I have yet to find anything bad. All the pictures are good quality and some of the pictures I can't believe came from a digital. I love the ability to change things like flash and macro right at the touch of my fingers without having to go hunting in a menu for them. Even on the lowest resolution it takes...

This is an incredible camera for...

Strengths: Excellent picture quality, tons of features.

Weakness: Slow processing, short battery life, small memory card.

This is an incredible camera for the price. The pictures are excellent and the PC interface is easy to use. The battery doesn't last long at all and the standard memory card doesn't hold many pictures but these can both be remedied by 3rd party options for only a few dollars more. This camera almost has too many features. You'll never use them all but it's nice to have them if you want them. The...
