NewTech InfoSystems Backup Now! DeluxeStrengths: It comes in a box with a manual. Weakness: Everything that counts. Set up is easy, wizards that walk you through backing up, everything OK. UNTIL YOU TRY AND RESTORE AFTER A CRASH. What a piece of trash. Everywhere you read "back up your data before you do anything." "Backup because of virus contamination". Too bad nobody makes a damn back up program that actually works when you need the data. Tech support did NOT return calls (they said they would). After I called them again, was told I (somehow) erred. Now to try "FREE", I must purchase for $70.00, with a 10% restocking fee for downloaded version, or for CD, I must pay $80.00 & $9.00 for shipping each way and a 10% restocking fee. Why should I pay almost $30.00 to find out if the purchased version...

NewTech InfoSystems Backup Now! DeluxeStrengths: This software worked with the original CD-RW that was in my PC, and it seemed to work as advertised ( I never tested a backup - see Summary). It was easy to configure the software and create a backup. Weakness: Compatibility and support. I upgraded to a DVD+RW (+R, CD-RW, -R). NTI *said* the software supported my new burner but Backup NOW *refused* to detect it, even after I tried all the upgrades and patches. In my opinion, this software was adequate, albeit a bit expensive. It worked with my original CD-RW unit, and if you don't plan to upgrade your burner, you'll probably be OK. Incompatibility struck before I ever tested the backups I made, so I can't comment on backup integrity. Also note that although Backup NOW! Deluxe *claims* compatibility with several DVD burners, it will not burn backups to...

NewTech InfoSystems Backup Now! DeluxeStrengths: It works! Backups flawlessly to CD-R and CD-RW. Simple, effective program interface that is well thought out. Compression can put 1 GB or more on a disc. Excellent complementary utilities included. Weakness: Would love for it to write nearer the speed rating of the media and/or drive. Can't do an single-step drive image restore of RAID configured system. Only backup product that I have found that writes to CD-Rs and CD-RWs. I have a couple others that make that claim but don't -- even after consulting their tech support. Fills the need to backup up valuable data to nonvolatile (CD-R), less vulnerable media. Highly recommended. And inexpensive.

DeluxeStrengths: Nothing Weakness: To long to do the backup and then at the end it shows error Waste of $70.00 and you can do a clean install and put all your software and hardware back on you computer before this program can even get done backing up your files. For some reason I don't learn If they say it works great then you know you just lost your money. By the time you get the computer backup you will need to buy a new one cause yours is going to be outdated or you will be to old to... Advertisement

Strengths: Product box looks nice.
Weakness: Had difficulty installing software (autoplay didn't work). When writing data to cdr and cdrw I would consistently get errors (1005 and 1014). Tech support is unhelpful.
This product is a 'rip-off'. After using it, I now have $15.00 of damaged media disks and no functional backup of my hard drive. I spent about 10 hours performing all suggestions made by tech support. I even tried a brand new cdrw drive. Both of the cdrw drives that I have work flawlessly with all other software but NTI. I am very dissapointed by customer service of the NTI organization. To top...
