Good Value for the MoneyStrengths: Good Price, Good Performance Weakness: Not the fastest available This is a great all-around laptop hard drive, and an excellent value for the money. Nice overall performance, but not the fastest in its category. The 8MB buffer helps performance, but other drives (barely) edge it out in terms of average latency.

External storageStrengths: I am impressed with the speed and quiteness. Weakness: Have not encountered any yet I am using it as an external storage, but eventually replacing my iBook 40GB hard drive with it once my iBook warranty period is over. Could not wait to experience the speed in my iBook.

Samsung Spinpoint 80 GB Internal Hard DriveStrengths: Price to High capacity Speed (Like a new computer) Stable Weakness: No I upgraded my old harddrive 20G with this SAMSUNG 80G. It runs so fast that I feel like I have a new computer. While I was using, I accidiently turned off the machine, however, my com is still OK. I might consider it stable.^^ The heat is not considerable. Compared to one I used to use. This is one of the best harddrive that I have used and excellent price.

Samsung MP0804H 80GB Hard DriveStrengths: fast, quiet and low price Weakness: not found yet It is a very good built hard drive. It was upgrade from my old 20gb hard drive. Compared to that one, this 80gb hard drive is much faster and more stabler. I am fully satisfied with this purchase. Advertisement

Strengths: Quiet. Fast.
Weakness: Not Found Yet.
I purchased an OEM version from Newegg. It came inside an anti-static charge bag. No other box or UPC code. I replaced my notebook's Hitachi Travelstar 60GB 4200 RPM with this one. The biggest difference is the noise produced by the hard drive. Samsung disk is extremely quiet, producing no audible noise or clicks. Compared to the noise Hitachi disk made, it's amazing.
