Uniden TRU8865-2 Cordless Telephone

Strengths: Very easy to setup. Well organized manual. Easy to read display.

Weakness: The volume on the handset speakerphone is a little low and "might" make you think the party you are talking to can't hear you.

The thing actually works very well! This is my fifth cordless phone in three years. I have owned a Panasonic, VTech, and AT&T. The Uniden has superior sound quality comapared to the other units I've tried. I use Vonage VoIP service. With my previous Panasonic phone, the expected "internet noise" with quite evident. With the Uniden TRU 8865 the noise is minimal. A nice addition to my home office!

Uniden TRU8865-2 Cordless Telephone

Strengths: Very Good price and good reputation.

Weakness: Signal strength was inadequate for the application for which I needed it.

I purchased this phone to use as my second internet line using VOIP and a national carrier. The connection from upstairs to downstairs was weak with too much static and dropped signals. While it may suffice for the needs of others it proved inadequate to the task and I returned the phone after trying to tweak the connection. I purchased a Panasonic KX-TG5240 and it had a great signal without...

Uniden TRU8865-2 Cordless Telephone

Strengths: doesn't interfere with 2.4 wireless internet.

Weakness: you cant hold the phone from the top or it will have static.

The phone works great. i have not had any problems as of yet. it has not interfered wiht my wireless internet. i like the phone book option that alows you to copy the phone numbers to the base and to the other handsets.

Uniden TRU8865-2 Cordless Telephone

Strengths: small foot print easy to set up

Weakness: compared to my old 900 mhz phone this one beats it in every respect

I plugged it in and it worked without any setup. Completing the setup was simple even without using the manual. The sound and battery life is far better than my old 900 mhz phone. I am able to use the add on phone in any room in the house and have not found any place it does not reach the base station.

Uniden TRU8865 - Great Phone

Strengths: great features, expandibility, competitive price,

Weakness: sometimes reception problem.

The phone look great. The design look strong. The buttons are nicely laid out. The menu is simple and easy to use. I also love how the voice mail indicator is very clear. The voice is clear and the speaker phone is great. That's one function I really wanted in a cordless phone. People can't tell if I am on speaker or not.

Uniden TRU8865-2 Base unit plus 1 extra handset

Strengths: Very easy to use / configure. It is plug it in and play. The keypad is nice and very strong. Its sound VERY clear and easily can talk over the speaker from far away.

Weakness: If the base (where the handset goes in) could be bigger, more swallow, the handset would be standing firmly.

I would definitely recommend it to anyone for buying it. The voice comes VERY clear and its buttons very handy for making use of last calls made and seeing who has called, both from the base and the handset. Its price one of the best for what it does... BUY IT !!!

Uniden TRU8865-2 Cordless Telephone

Strengths: Full of features and glad it was available w/o answering machine since I subscribe to voicemail.

Weakness: Wish it came with three handsets.

I absolutely love this phone. I was able to walk my dog to the park located a block away and use my phone (we are talking about 300-400 yards) with very little noise. Signal is strong and clear on my 1/2 acre lot and house. The baby monitor feature is fantastic for monitoring my girlfriend's grandchildren's room when they visit. Full of features and a must-have if you have a wireless network like...
