Photoshop Elements 5.0Strengths: The capability one has in editing photos such as cropping, enhancing, color change and revising...is marvelous. Weakness: I can't think of any right now. So glad that Photoshop came up with an alternative for us photographers who wish to use their software for the very best editing of photos. Now, one does not have to purchase the Adobe Photoshop package, pay big bucks and use only a quarter of the program.

Very powerful, but steep learning curveStrengths: Lots of great editing features Weakness: Steep learning curve; Auto red eye fix not very effective I upgraded from a simpler Adobe product and am thrilled with the expanded range of editing functions available in this product. Definitely a steep learning curve, but worth it when you can use things like the "clone" feature to fill in for obscured elements. Haven't used the photo organization features because Windows Vista works fine for that. In fact Windows Vista's red eye fix is far superior...

Adobe Photoshop Elements v.5.0Strengths: Lots of features and good editing tools Weakness: Difficult to edit a lots of pictures at the same time I bought this product to be able to correct color and lighting problems and remove unwanted elements in my pictures (i.e. a tree branch that looked like it was growing out of someone's ear). I can say it has worked fantastic for those purposes. It also does a good job of fixing skin tones. It isn't the same as the full pro version of Photoshop, but for folks on a budget is works great. My one...

Keeps getting better, and biggerStrengths: More features than you can possibly learn Weakness: More features than you can possibly learn. As with any photo editing application, runs best with LOTS of memory installed I've had every installment of this software since version 1.0, and can honestly say that it has gotten more and more powerful (and more similar to their flagship product, Photoshop) with each version. I have not tried the photo organization features, so won't comment on those, but for photo editing, it's all here. However, unless you take some sort of tutorial, it can take a LONG time to master a...

A few cute & handy new features with Photoshop...Strengths: Best affordable photo editing and organizing software Weakness: None I have used Photoshop Elements 2.0 for a long time. Recently I upgraded to Photoshop Elements 5.0 thanks to a very good deal at local retailer. I have found a few cute & handy new features with Photoshop Elements 5.0, e.g. Healing Brush, Quick Fix, Correct Camera Distortion filter. The Quick Fix feature is almost useless in Photoshop Elements 2.0, it now becomes rather helpful in Photoshop...

Adobe did it! A must have for a digital photographerStrengths: redesigned friendlier photo organizer, improved B&W conversion Weakness: none I am a former Photoshop Element 3.0 user. PE 5.0 is definitely a huge improvement over the PE 3.0. There are several things that I like from PE 5.0. 1. Expandable stack view: PE allows user to stack multiple photos to save some desktop space. With PE 3.0, PE organizer will move from the main page to a new page to expand the stack. With PE 5.0, expanded view will stay on the main page. One can...

Fantastic Better than Jasc PSPStrengths: easy (relatively) to use. very powerful. Weakness: not for quick fixes. too much choice. I love this product. It allows me to merge pictures, improve certain aspects. Put great effects easily. So much too choose from. Only negative is that it is so powerful that if you are not a professional it becomes hard to choose the best effects.

Worth the money and effort to learnStrengths: Easy to use Weakness: None I have had limited use of PSE 5.0 but from what I have seen it is very capable for my needs. What I like most is the ability to quickly and easily make automatic fixes and adjustments to my photographs. Much better than the less competition.

New features are good
Strengths: Split screen when editing, basic editing options available on screen, print preview allows print size changes easily, rotate buttons on screen, auto redeye, open files thumbnails on screen
Weakness: Help didn't display topic (may be operator error!), seems to take a bit of time to perform autofix
Overall a number of good improvements over the previous version I had (2.0). I like the layout of the screen. Some of the most commonly used buttons are on screen vs. needing to use a pull down menu. It is much more convenient to work with open files since they are at the bottom of the screen as thumbnails. I am still checking out the other options but so far, I like it!
