Product Details of Maxell 4x DVD-R Media - 4.7GB - 25 Pack

Description

The "R" in DVD-R stands for recordable or simply put - "write one time." DVD-R is the next generation of CD-R. Think of it as the larger capacity brother of CD-R. DVD-R is a write once single sided optical disc. It has the same physical size as a CD-R (12cm), but has higher data and track densities that give it about 7 times the storage capacity of a standard 650MB CD-R.

Maxell 4x DVD-R Media - 4.7GB - 25 Pack

Strengths: No failures; high quality media

Weakness: Price; Different manufacturers but packaged the same

These are very good discs when they are actually Maxell brand (MXLRG02). However, Maxell is trying to pull a fast one on consumers by replacing some of these with Ritek G04's. The Riteks look exactly the same, and the only way to tell the difference before purchasing is on the outside wrapping, where the Made in Japan typing is covered up with a Made in Taiwan sticker. I purchased the Taiwanese...

Maxell 4x DVD-R Media - 4.7GB - 25 Pack

Strengths: GREAT, solid media. Burn perfectly every time. Never a coaster. Great picture and color transfer from DirecTV and Tivo.

Weakness: None.

There IS a difference between these Maxell disks and the no-name and semi-name disks that I've used. The Maxell disks work perfectly in both my Panasonic DMR-E50 standalone recorder and my Liteon LDW-851S internal computer burner, whereas I've had considerable rejection problems with other disks, leading to terrible frustration at times. No frustration with these disks. I HIGHLY recommend them....

Maxell 4x DVD-R Media - 4.7GB - 25 Pack

Strengths: great quality, very reliable.

Weakness: relatively expensive

I got Maxwell DVD-R from Office Depot. It is the best DVD-R I have ever used. No failure so far. The high cost is the only weakness. However the price is still reasonable if you consider the high quality. Recommended.

Maxell 4x DVD-R Media - 4.7GB - 25 Pack

Strengths: High Quality, no failures yet!

Weakness: Cost, availability

These discs are great. With all of the major companies seeming to have decided to switch to cheap cmc media (Thanks TDK, Memorex, etc.) I really try to avoid those now. I use these for all my master copies and love them. May be a little more expensive but the peace of mind is worth it.

Maxell 4x DVD-R Media - 4.7GB - 25 Pack

Strengths: Recording Quality

Weakness: Design Material quality

Recording quality is good as well as Tiayo yuden's DVD-R. However, there is air in discs. Disc edge is not smooth. There might be some production problem of material of discs.

Maxell 4x DVD-R Media - 4.7GB - 25 Pack

Strengths: works normally

Weakness: none yet

This is the first time I'm trying the DVD-R format disks. Been using DVD+R up to now, but with all-write technology available on my dvd recorder (Liteon 5045), I wanted to try the -R disks. Also, the DVD+R will not play in the Toshiba upconverting HDMI dvd player for playback in the other room.

Maxell 4x DVD-R Media - 4.7GB - 25 Pack

Strengths: Maintaining Maxell's superior disk quality

Weakness: High price point for regular dvd-r disks

I've only had these dvd-r disks for a few days now but I have to say they are by far the best dvd-r disks I have used. These disks burn flawlessly and occassionally burn faster than the stated 4 times speed. Fantastic playback on my personal dvd player as well. This is a must get for anybody burning dvd data.

Maxell 25 x DVD-R 4.7 GB 4x

Strengths: good quality and brand

Weakness: n/a

Good media for data storage and video playback. The quality that you can expect from a good brand. Compatible with many DVD ROM drives and DVD players. Some complained about the relatively high price, but I got myself a very good deal for this media.

Maxell 4x DVD-R Media - 4.7GB - 25 Pack

These DVD's play on ALL of our DVD Players. We have had difficulty with other DVD's playing in our cheap DVD player. These work wonderfully!
