DOAStrengths: Cheap and small Weakness: Couldn't get it to work -- just talked to tech support and they said to return it for repair. Also, the drive doesn't stop spinning when it's not in use. Now I have to spend more money and time returning it. The LaCie website's tech support section is poorly designed and has dead links, and I had to sit on hold for 30 minutes to talk to someone on the phone. I will not buy a LaCie product again. UPDATE: I received the replacement and it doesn't work either. Tried it on 3 different computers. And my other USB HD connects fine. I'm a professional...

Too bad it won't shut itself down after a period of non-activity I bought this drive so that I could store all my files on one drive that could go with me from desktop to laptop to laptop because I travel alot. I am about to buy a second one to back up the first becuz I do worry about it crashing just becuz I forget to shut it down - wonder how long a drive can spin before it wears out??? Maybe I'll find out.

LaCie 160 GB External Hard Drive - 1 PackStrengths: Fast, easy to use, reliable, great storage for the price Weakness: No bracket to set up sideways. I had this hard drive set up in a matter of seconds. It has been extremely reliable and runs fast. I haven't had any problems. My only complaint is that it does not come with a bracket so that the hard drive can be placed on its side.

Plug and Play is very easy to use. Weakness: none so far. I brought this hard drive for expand my labtop space. I use for hold up movies, musics and pictures from what i downloaded. The transfer rate is really fast and quiet. The price for $110 at www.buy.com is almost unbiddable compare to the other bands. It cost u less than $0.70 per GB. This is amazing! LaCie 160 GB External Hard Drive - 1 PackStrengths: Great backup option for all of my 3Pc. P.C.Good looking as well.:) Weakness: None so far A great looking external Hard Drive. Abundant storage place that I’m using for backup for the moment. I am more interested in having it multibootable and possibly run a version of Linux in there. Storage is so cheap nowadays. This is costing me less than a dollar per Gig. :)

Strengths: None
Weakness: Gets too hot, not reliable, crashed after a year, poor lacie technical support, too short usb cable, not really a lacie.
Compared to a Western Digital, same capacity : Power button in the back, not practical. The drive never stops spinning=> If you forget it, it will spin all night long=> Drive gets really hot => crashed after one year, of couse taking with it my 160GB of precious data. After hours desperatly looking after a software on lacie's poor website to format it, I figured out it's a maxtor hard drive....
