Included Interfaces: Type of connectors used in connecting the monitor to a computer or another type of external device. Typical types include 15-pin VGA connectors for analog connections and DVI for digital signals. Monitors with USB interfaces generally have USB Hubs for plugging in external devices.
Response Time: Response time is the average amount of time it takes for a liquid crystal cell to go from one shade of grey to another. Lower numbers mean faster transitions, i.e., 16 ms is faster than 25 ms, and therefore less visible image artifacts. Slower response times can cause ghosting or streaking effects.
Resolution: Resolution is the number of pixels that make up an image, measured as width by height. For example, SVGA resolution is 800 pixels wide by 600 pixels high. More pixels per unit of an area produce a higher resolution and create crisper images.
Aspect Ratio: The ratio between the width and height of the display screen. The typical standard ratio is 4:3 while widescreen is 16:9, 15:9, or 16:10.
Contrast Ratio: Contrast is the ratio of whitest to blackest area within an image. Higher contrast ratios make for deeper blacks & richer colors. Contrast ratios typically range from 400:1 to as high as 3000:1.
