Microsoft Office 2003 Professional Edition

Strengths: Powerful, easy to use.

Weakness: Cartoon characters interfere with help system.

As much as I dislike monopolies, I have to say that Gates's kids have created an extremely powerful, easy to use package here. HOWEVER, StarOffice offers virtually the same power and ease of use.

I have always found the silly help cartoon characters to literally be a waste of time, slowing rather than expediting obtaining help. Yes, I know how to turn them off. They STILL appear (e.g., when trying to obtain help on a function in Excel).

Microsoft Office 2003 Professional Edition

Strengths: Superfast setup with no apparent incompatibility.

Weakness: None

This product installed without a hitch. I was able to get online and perform all the updates without any evidence of incompatibility. The programs functions like the retailed product I purchased for my desktop.

Microsoft Office 2003 Professional Edition

Strengths: Installation was automatic and went without a hitch.

Weakness: The installed applications require significant file storage overhead.

The application suite provides great functionality and configurability. Suggest getting usefull free downloads from MS for each individual module Now I can easily work remotely on all MS applications and transfer files back and forth to the office.

Microsoft Office 2003 Professional Edition

Strengths: Easy installation and updates, EXCELLENT on-line training available at http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/training/default.aspx. Basic features easy to use.

Weakness: Sometimes "helpful" features turned on by default can clog the screen

MS Office is the standard for good reason. It is so flexible and easy to use the basic features, yet has a depth of capabilities unmatched anywhere. The available on-line training and automatic updates are great features.

Microsoft Office 2003 Professional Edition

Useful and great. Not very easy to understand. Installation was hard and the user guide really didn't help. Great for offices but bad for home or PC Gamers.

Microsoft Office 2003 Professional Edition

Strengths: Easy to setup and start using.

Weakness: A lot of info to learn, but so is life.

I do not really know what to say about MS Office Pro 2003 except that I have always used MS software and do not have any experience with any other compairable software.
Having stated that, the only thing I can say is I like it.

Office 2003 Pro

Strengths: This product has all the features that I normally use at work and is able to deal with bridging to older files that I create on word/excel 97.

Weakness: Not the latest version

I feel that this technology will be stable for yet another 5 years and so will bridge me quite well till the most recnt version becomes more accepted. This version is superior ro those that only have Word, Excel,Powerpoint.

MS Office Pro

Strengths: The gold standard in workplace computing keeps getting better

Weakness: Costs and frequent updating by MS

Office Pro has more stuff in it than most people will need. The essentials are Outlook, Word, Excell and Powerpoint, so Pro may not be what you need. I am grateful to PriceGrabber for assisting in finding more cost effective sourcing for this product.

Great Price for a Great Office Suite

Strengths: Great price for a fully lic. office suite even though dated from 2003 (MS Office Pro 2003 Ed.)

Weakness: Vista and its office products just came out but they won't work on my old computer so I'll use an old Office Suite.

MS Office Pro 2003 still sells for around $200 for a lic. copy just as VISTA Office Pro 2007 came out. A purchase of $99 for MS Office Pro 2003 with Lic., key and OEM was a great deal.

Office 2003

Strengths: Easy to install and use.

Very good product. It was easy to install and is a nice upgrade from earlier versions. I use it daily. Have not had any problems with it. An excellent product.

Oem - what does that mean?

Strengths: The whole suite is working as I would expect it, without flaws.

Weakness: Bercause I bought an Oem version, I did not get the manual

I'm not sure if I should have gotten a manual but the vendor told me that due to the fact that I was buying an Oem version there would be no box and no manuel. I suppose I got what I paid for. Although office 2003 is amazing and a great upgrade to the old office.

Suspicious, but works great.

Strengths: Industry standard, robust.

Weakness: None.

Microsoft Office 2003 is a good product, and the last with that familiar feel to it. The next version, 2007, is also a good office suite, but everything is all moved around, toolbars have been revamped, and it feels like quite a different product. Stick with 2003, it performs better on a lower end system than 2007 as well.

Office 2003 Professional (Full Product, PC).

Strengths: Extremely functional and versitile - amazing capabilities

Weakness: huge learning curve to learn all it can do

The Access is the most amazing data base product I have seen. There are so many things that can be done with it but it will take quite a bit of work and using the program to truly appreciate its full capability. Excell, Pwoerpoint and Word are great everyday workhorses and easier to use and get ip to speed.

Microsoft Office 2003 Professional Edition

Strengths: Highly integrated Office tools help transfering data and graphics between programs very simple. It's almost necessary for people who do presentation or training on a regular basis.

Weakness: Microsoft's monopoly makes it quite expensive to obtain, unless your company is willing to pay for it of course.

For most everyday users, there's not much difference between Office 2003 and Office XP, or even Office 2000. The reasons that I got it is because it's the most recent Office release and it's compatible with Windows XP.

I did ran into a bug during installation of the Business Contact Manager. It complained about "not enough space in drive C:" due to the installer miscalculating the available disk space. While the solution provided by Microsoft's support site doesn't work, I did find a solution from Gateway's support site. I just need to add ~107MB of data onto my hard disk and everything went smoothly.

Microsoft Office 2003 Professional Edition

Strengths: Very good integration of all Office programs make transfering data and graphics between programs very easy.

Weakness: Continued support of the Microsoft monopoly.

The installation went smoothly and so far there have been no operational problems.

Although this product is quite expensive, the price that I found via PriceGrabber.com could not be beat.

Office Professional 2003 on OEM disc - No manual or...

Strengths: Microsoft Office is a defacto standard. This version of that product has all the programs and features.

Weakness: Some features complicated to use. It takes some time to become fluent in the use of these programs. Word has some automatic formatting features that kick in unexpectedly, requiring the user to adapt.

Microsoft Office is the software used at both my job and the college that I sometimes attend, so this is the software that is most useful to me. It installed onto my Windows XP machine with no problems at all, and it works fine.

Microsoft Office 2003 Professional Edition

Strengths: GOOD SOFTWARE OFFERS EVERYTHING I NEED

Weakness: MICROSOFT PRODUCTS ARE JUST TOO EXPENSIVE!

I CURRENTLY USE OFFICE 2002. I ASSUMED 2003 IS BETTER. I CURRENTLY DO NOT HAVE POWERPOINT AND ACCESS. WITH 2003 IT COMES WITH EVERYTHING. EVEN THOUGH I DO NOT USE EXCEL AT THIS TIME, I LIKE TO HAVE ALL OF THESE SOFTWARES ON HAND!

Microsoft Office 2003 Professional Edition

Strengths: Outlook preview panel is a big improvement. Also the spam filter works well. Excel is as great as ever.

Weakness: Word still acts as if it knows what you want better than you do. Access overdoes the security and makes it a pain. The new upload feature in FrontPage is awful.

Compared to previous versions, overall this is not too bad. I don't use PowerPoint and I haven't seen any difference in Publisher. If you are buying Office, I don't see any reason NOT to buy this version. But if you already have Office 2000 or 2002, there is not really any great reason to upgrade, except for Outlook.

Microsoft Office 2003 Professional Edition

Strengths: Easy install, only used Word and Excel thus far, but works great

Weakness: Price, although I found a deal on EBay

Haven't yet had the chance to explore all the applications, but I do like the side bar that pops up for the thesaurus. I must admit, I don't see a huge improvement over Office 2002, or even my "ancient" 2000 version. I was building a new computer and figured I'd put the latest version on it.

Microsoft Office 2003 Professional Edition

Strengths: It is not a huge improvement over Office 2000, more of an evolution than a revolution. The way comments are handled is far superior than in the past.

Weakness: Image handling is still the weakest link in the product. Does not follow the CUA standards for keyboard shortcuts.

I have never thought that this product was inherently better than competing products such as WordPerfect. In fact, the only reason I own it is I am forced to by my client base. MicroSoft got all of us to "drink the koolaid" several years ago with outlandishly low prices. MicroSoft Office was also included with many new systems for free. In essence just like they always do, MicroSoft bought the market. This version is very stable and has some nice features. Unfortunately you have to install MicroSoft Outhouse I mean Outlook in order to get the full advantage of the suite.

MS Office Professional 2003

Strengths: Full version I received exactly what was advertized.

Weakness: all gone no more to order at that price

I was surprised that for the price I paid I got an unopen full version of MS Office Professional 2003. From now on when I need extra software applications I will shop here first.

Microsoft Office 2003 Professional Edition

Strengths: Has all of the tools a small business needs from an office suite.

Weakness: Outlook has the tendency to lock up, forcing the hung processes to be ended in Task Manager to enable it to work again. Business Manager installation required MSDE to be installed to function, which failed on 2 of the 3 machines.

If you don't need the Business Manager functionality to keep track of business contacts, opportunities, and leads, then I'd skip its installation as it is troublesome.

Microsoft Office 2003 Professional Edition

Strengths: Improved program layouts and look. Easier to use than 0ffice 2000.

Weakness: Price/Gain ratio over office 2000 may note be worth it to some.

I got MS Office 2003 to replace my 2000 for a class I was taking. Otherwise I doubt I would have looked into buying a new 0ffice Suite.

If you're still using office 97 or 99 or something like that i'd recommend the upgrade. Office 2000 users may not find the benefits worth the cost.

Office 2003

Strengths: Does a lot of new great stuff.

Weakness: Some new things are a bit complicated but I'm getting used to it.

Was recommended to buy Office 2003 and not 2007 because the newest version (07) is VERY different from Office 2000 version. So I took a friends advice and am glad for it. '03 is different enough for me. And, it was a good price.

Outlook 2003 software

Strengths: Excellent programs, especially Outlook, which provides not only a good means of communicating, but a great reminder and appointment system.

Weakness: Outlook sometimes "closes" for no obvious reason at all; even after running the "Help/Repair" option in Tools.

Office 2003 is one of the better products produced by Microsoft, much better than 2000. I also find Office 2003 to be more user friendly than Microsoft Vista as well.

Office 2003

Strengths: spam filters

Weakness: none - I've always liked MS Office

This was an upgrade from Office 2000, which worked fine, but since MS quit supporting it, it was time for a change. My company is still using Office 2003, so I don't feel bad for not upgrading to 2007, especially considering the price difference. The best thing about the 2003 over 2000 is in Outlook, you have many more spam options.

Microsoft Office Professional 2003 (full version)

Strengths: Just what I wanted.

Weakness: None.

I wanted to upgrade my existing MS Office 2000 Professional, and this was the most cost-effective solution. I tried bidding on ebay, but found the price of the full-version always went higher that this price. I use all the Office products, but did not need all the 2007 features. The additional features in 2003 (not in version 2000)were exactly what I needed. I've been very happy with the new software.

Microsoft Office 2003 Professional Edition

Strengths: Seeing your money go to Microsoft makes you feel warm and tingly inside.

Weakness: There is a learning curve required for this upgrade. It is NOT user-friendly. Help and tutorials are pathetic. Plan on getting a book. Most new features apply only to networks and developers.

If you don't REALLY need the 2003 version, don't bother. Use your older, familiar versionUnless this is your first copy, then you might as well start here. If you do use 2003 (or XP), you really will need a book or two that explains the new version. And don't count on more productivity unless you are a serious pro on a network. Home and small business users have not gotten much help.

Office 2003 Professional (Full Product, PC)

Strengths: It's the default Office Suite and it has virtually everything you need for basic tasks.

Weakness: It's a huge resource hog and I don't use half of the features; not even in Microsoft Word.

I spend most of my day in Word and Excel. Everyone in my office uses this product, so there really isn't much option for me. That said, these two programs are relatively easy to use and powerful.

MS Office - Professional

Strengths: Complete Software Package

Weakness: "Not for Resale" OEM version

Purchased as a "full" version. Recieved OEM version. Could have gotten that cheaper elsewhere. Installed correctly. Recieved it with the mini manual, but typically don't use them anyway.

Feedback, MS Word 2003 purchase

Strengths: Ubiquitous; no choice to use. (Returned Office 2007: steep learning curve, new user interface; my ~200 Word 2003 macros cannot be imported into Word 2007!!!! ...don’t have the time for that!!)

Weakness: It’s a Microsoft Office Product (only Excel is fairly well-thought-out).

WordPerfect 8.0 (a number of versions back!!) blows MS Word away, insofar as ease-of-use, proficiency, troubleshooting: MS Word is only good for writing memos.
Example: Outline numbering cannot be collapsed (showing, e.g., only the 1st level); the built-in Headings (1 thru 9) must be applied ...and then, outline numbering no longer works (even if Outline-numbered paragraphs are used to format the Heading 1, etc., styles!).
What good is outline numbering if one cannot use collapse?? (So, I had to install an old copy of WP 8 in order to engage in some complex development.)
MS should concentrate on fixing their products, instead of on eye candy.

I am so completely Angry!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Strengths: Most of The Microsoft Office Suite Works

Weakness: Microsoft Outlook Office does not work at all. It is not sending or receiving. What do I do with a Microsoft SQL Server? Why do I need it, and why isn't it operational? I am lost.

I am so completely angry! The only reason I ever purchased this product was for Microsoft Office OUTLOOK!!!! Now I find that out of all the programs that is the one program NOT actually working. When I went to find out what happened... this is what I saw under my system info! Please help! This is my 2nd Email and I have heard absolutely nothing!!!!

Application name Microsoft Office Outlook
Version 11.
Build 8118
Product ID Not Available
Language English (United States)
Application Path C:Program FilesMicrosoft OfficeOFFICE11
System Language English (United States)
Mail Support Not Available
Current folder Not Available
Current item Not Available

No mail support at all! It does not work at all with my cable provider...although my outlook express works fine...so it has to do with this program not my isp or my computer or internet connection. I also have no idea what to do about this Microsoft SQL server...will Microsoft Outlook work without it working? It keeps saying it is offline. I MUST HAVE MICROSOFT OUTLOOK for my job, not Outlook Express. Please help me... I feel like I have wasted my money now that I can not even get Microsoft Outlook and Business Contact Manager to work at all. What a waste of money... I am so lost. Please help me if you can. I just wish you could have enclosed some basic instructions...now I am completely frustrated near tears. I even paid $15 express so I could have this in place for my new job...but it is a complete bust!

Not an authentic copy

Strengths: None

Weakness: Does not appear to be authentic or working

I couldn't load it. It did not pass the MS authenticity test. Maybe it was defective, maybe it was a pirated version. Either way, it didn't work and I had to go buy a retail version. Shame really because in every way, including the authenticity seal, it looked to be genuine, and I was hopeful.

Microsoft Office 2003 Professional

Strengths: None

Weakness: unusable

We are required to use Office 2003 for compatibility with other software. I purchased new computers, but the manufacturer no longer provides Office 2003 on new equipment. The versions I purchased on the internet had already been activated, indicating they were not Microsoft approved. I have been advised to not use the software, as it is likely counterfeit.
