Unable to Format using PC

Strengths: Good for digtal camera

Weakness: Unable to use directly from PC SD card slots

I recently purchased two 2.0 sandisk SD cards, one for my digital camera, the other for my PC for back up purposes. After inserting the SD card into my PC SD port I got a message stating the device could not be read and needed to be formatted. I selected the option to format the SD card (as I have in the past with other Sandisk SD cards) the process reached 100% then and error appeared with a message stating that the formatting could not be completed. I though the device might be defective so I inserted the card for the digital camera the same message appeared saying the device needed to be formatted ( I did not format) I’ve formatted SD cards in the past with this same PC using fat, fat32, and NTFS. The un-formatted card reads fine in the digital camera. I’ve searched the web for other having the same issue and found hundreds of hit referring to the same problem. I’m disappointed the Sandisk site has little or no support for the cards, I’ve used the search feature there and found nothing. It clearly states on the package100% compatibility with all devices using SD card slots (I know 100% compatibility is not always possible) but this is a laptop less than a year old running XP Pro SP2 with all updates applies. This is the first time I’ve had issues with Sandisk SD cards but its clear they should provide more info on their site

Excellent Card at an excellent price

Strengths: Capacity and price

Weakness: other models offer higher speeds, but for a higher price.

I have used SanDisk products for years and they have proven to be very high quality and reliable. I upgraded to this card from a 1 Gig that I had before. All indications are that the same performance will be had and double the capacity. This means that my Kodak 6.1 MP camera can take in the realm of 1000 shots on a single card depending on the quality chosen! I had nto previously considered going to this high of a capacity as it was cost prohibative. Since SanDisk announced in their quarterly reports and anticipated price drop of 35% on this type of product, the prices have been coming down from many of the sellers. We all win and this product is a winner. The speed of this card is fine for my purposes, but the higher end models are rated to be faster if you want to pay the higher price.

2GB SD Memory card

Strengths: functions perfectly

Weakness: none

So far, this SD memory card does exactly what it is supposed to do, without flaw or blemish. Since I use it in Nikon D50, and since only the 1GB memory card was pre-tested on this, I guess you could say this 2GB card works better than advertised.

HIGHLY RECOMMEND FOR TREO 650

Strengths: No confusing formatting needed -- works out of the package.

Weakness: None.

I needed a 2GB card for my Treo 650 and read alot about having to reformat the other cheaper brands on a PC using FAT instead of FAT32 blah, blah blah. With the free shipping, this SanDiski 2GB card cost me only about $10 more than the other cards, with ABSOLUTELY NO HASSLES. I popped it into my Treo, used the built-in formatter (which took al of one second) and it worked immediately. Also, my older external card reader has no problem reading this relatively new-to-the-market card.

This is a Sandisk SD card

Strengths: 2GB capacity. Affordable price.

Weakness: Not as fast as Sandisk Ultra II series.

I bought this card for my Dell Axim X51V handheld. It works great without any problems. Although the speed of this card is not that fast compare to other high-speed SD cards, it is enough for a handheld. Also the price of this card is very affordable. Highly recommend to those who want a high capacity for general uses.

2GB SD from SanDisk

Strengths: Very high capacity and can be used accross a vast array of products.

Weakness: Slightly slower than most cards having such a large capacity.

Wonderful to have so much space and I am now able to take hundreds of photos and long movies with my digital camera. Although it records a little more slowly onto the disk, I frankly don't care.

Good SD Card

I used for my cannon z200 and took 2 hours video no problem.
It is much better than 1G card and the power consume seem good to me.
The speed is good for camera also.

Sandisk 2GB SD

Strengths: reliable and great capacity

I had my doubts about purchasing a memory card on line, especially when the picture of it was distorted. The picture looked much wider than the actual memory card.

This card works well in my digital camera (Canon SD200) I could take about 1200 pictures!

Product worked without formating in Samsung i730...

Strengths: Lots of memory for a great price.

Weakness: None so far.

I was told that this card is being discontinued. Others should order ASAP if they want one. I had to call a few sites that listed this card in stock, but when I called it was on backorder. Companies with this on backorder may not get anymore in, so I would suggest cancelling and only ordering from a company having this card in stock and ready to ship.

2GB SD card

Strengths: big capacity, inexpensive

Weakness: Slow transfer speed

The Sandisk 2.0Gb preforms well for its price (79 dollars) the transfer time is longer because more files can be transmitted into the card at once. The card may not be compatible with all SD readers on the market. (It doesn't work with mine reader, however it worked with the treo 650)

Sandisk 2GB

Strengths: Great speed and capacity for the price.

Weakness: None so far.

Worked perfectly right out of the box on my PPC (Viewsonic V35), camera (Kodak EasyShare C300) and SD card USB adapter (Sandisk Cruzer). So it works fine with older tech. The SD slot on my Dell 700m didn't work with it initially, but that was a driver issue. If you have a 700m and don't mind losing the hibernation power saving feature, use the Packard Bell driver (it's called PCIxx32 v2000). Your mileage may vary, but it worked fine for me. Don't let Dell Support - even premium support - convince you there is anything wrong with this card or with the card reader on your laptop. I called them *before* buying the card and they assured me there was no problem with using a 2GB card with the 700m. After I bought the card and found it wouldn't work, they spent an hour installing and reinstalling the newer Dell driver (which completely broke the slot by the way - it wouldn't read any card using that driver) and in the end they wanted to send a tech to replace the SD drive itself. Geesh! Save yourself some time and grief and just google the problem yourself. Do the research and you'll be able to fix it in 30 min. or less.

Merchant delivers as advertised. I am a satisfied customer, and will definitely buy again from them. The 2 GB memory card also works as advertised, I use it with my Casio S500 Exilim camera, and handles all the photographs and mpeg4 video I shoot well.

A Very Reliable SD Card @ an Excellent Buy

Good SD card

I bought this card to use with my Panasonic D-snap. I inteded to store a lot of stuff on this card and it's big enough for what I need, as long as I remember to delete my tv show recordings.

Bought this SD card for a Canon Coolpix 5600 camera as a gift for my parents. Chose this card because of its storage capacity as my parents do not use computer to transfer photos. It worked great. Stores a lot of pictures without any problem. I have been loyal to Sandisk card for several years and I love their products.

Sun Disc 2.0 GB card

Strengths: Holds large amount of data

I have been using this 2.0 GB SD card for a couple of months now and have not had any problems so far. I'm able to take photos as long as I wish with over 900 @ 8 MP. It will take way more pictures at a lower MP.

plenty of room on this 2GB SD card

I currently own 512MB and 1GB SanDisk SD cards that I use with my Pentax *istD digital SLR and my Canon A620 digital camera. I have never had any problems with these smaller cards and so far no troubles with my 2 GB card.

SanDisk cards are consistently the est value, and based on my experience I do not feel as though I have sacrificed quality for the savings.


This 2GB capacity will allow me to store more photos and also to increase the number of short videos I can store with my Canon A620. Additionally, I will now be able to more easily transfer videos downloaded on my desktop to my laptop, where I have my double layer DVD burner. I was limited with the 1 GB card, as many of the movies were larger than 1GB and had to be split up in order to transfer them.

This card has been versatile enough to use for general flash storage tasks when coupled with my USB reader, and to transfer files between desktops and laptops, with my digital camerasand my Palm.

In my experience, this has been a great addition to the SD cards offered by SanDisk and another great value.

It is hard to write a review about memory. It either functions or not. I would imagine that the most important thing would be the speed of the memory and reliablity. I have used it in my GPS and camera. I have had no problems and would definitely purchase again if I needed more memory.

Review the product (2GB Secure Digital Card) you...

Strengths: none, receive 2 defective products

Weakness: Unable to format and the SD card is not readable by two PDAs that read other 2 GB SD cards.

I was unable to format the card via the PDA but was able to format it with a card reader. The PDA was unable to read or recognize the card and was tried on a Treo and Tungsten T3. I was unable to get online support to resolve the problem from SanDisk because the card did not have a serial number on the back. This was not a bargain but was a costly mistake which still leaves me without a card. I returned two defective cards and I am still waiting for another replacement that hopefully will be tested first and will work.

Upgraded Casio Digital camera Memory from 256MB to 2...

Strengths: Works as expected with no issues.

Weakness: None to date

I ordered the memory from PriceMin through Pricegrabber Storefront. My order arrived earlier than expected, was well packaged and I was very impressed. I have to admit its always a nervous experience ordering from a new place.

Finally this stick allows for the use of the video features on my digital camera without compromising space for stills. I am very happy with the over all experience and I would highly recommend it.

Sandisk 2GB Secure Digital Card

Strengths: tiny, easy to use, easy to learn about

Weakness: none

I choose 'satisfactory' because it performs exactly as I expect. There are no shortcomings, it plugs in, functions. I use it for digital books. Now I can pack a wide variety wherever I go. I still have space to back up files from my PDA.
Three stars from me means this is a good product-I trust it. I have not compared it to anything else to say its better

Bought for my Dell X30 as storage card like maps, music and pictures. Never have any problem for 70 days so far. Bought from Amazon for $60. Read and write speed is acceptable as well. I tested it on my digital camera and it does not have any problem as well.

Killing deal

Strengths: Very cheap. High capacity.

I would say, it is a very good deal for a 2GB under $80. Till now it works great. Even it is not a high speed card, I don't feel too much difference for my PDA. For this price, you would not regret.

I would definitely consider this to be one of my first choices for a memory card to supplement the Wii's memory. The price was the perfect value since most accessories for the Wii are so expensive. I consider Sandisk to be the leader in this type of memory.

SanDisk has a problem with some applications

Works great in my Palm, but installed in a Kingston SD card reader it will not read and hangs the computer. I've tried everything I can think of and can't solve the problem. So in my Palm it stays.

Weakness: Sent order for product over two weeks ago and the whole time I've been sitting waiting for the product to arrive I find out that the order still has not processed and been sent!!!

Make sure when ordering anything to follow up daily and make sure the order gets transmitted and placed on whatever payment option that you choose! So you are not also sitting around waiting for it and it never shows up!! This is the only time I have had issues with purchasing item(s) over the internet!!! Still no product!

Weakness: After one or two uses, it showed "card error". So I returned it.

Theis product was not satisfactory.
But the seller(Pricemin) was satisfactory since they are kind to reply to my replacement request and they told me this product had a few cases of complain, so willingly accepted a return and refunded.

Works Everywhere

Strengths: Affordable, Spacious Fast at times

Weakness: Slow at times

This SD card works with my digital camera & Nintendo Wii. Why Nintendo charges so much for their branded card made by the same manufacturer is crazy. This SD card has tons of space! Don't waste loot on brand names. This is more than adequate. It also comes with a nice, clear case.

Strengths: Works as should be with my Palm T|X. No issue.

I used this for my Palm T|X and I have found no problem with it. This is mainly to expand the memory for my handheld, which is quite new itself. It also works for the slot I have on my Dell laptop. Perfect!

images store fast. The space is huge, will never have memory shortage for photos. You can even record movie just like camcoder, give you portable movie to be transferred to you friends.

SanDisk 2GB Secure Digital Card

Strengths: cheap as all SD cards, robust as all SanDisk cards, 2GB is all I need

Weakness: not compatible with my older digital camera

This card is all I expected it to be for the $19 I paid (with shipping). 2GB is the right amount of memory to last you a while as a leisure photographer and I have so far had no problems with any of my SanDisk cards (I own 4).

I Hope They Aren't All Like This

Strengths: 2GB of storage, Good read/write speed

I ordered this from a storefront and I suspect I got an older or foreign model. I've never seen packaging like the kind mine came in. Still, I'm pretty sure it's not a knock-off (fake). The first thing I noticed was that it's pretty thick. It didn't go into my camera quite as smoothly as my other card but it fit. The write-protection was originally on so I tried to switch it off. It was not easy. The switch seemed to be glued in place and I thought I would have to open the card and just remove the switch. Eventually I managed to switch off the write-protection at the cost of probably breaking the switch. It moves back and forth very smoothly now and I'm convinced it's now just for show. I haven't used it extensively but I didn't notice any kind of unusual lag while taking pictures or reviewing them with my camera.

Don't take all of my comments as typical though. Again, I'm sure this isn't the same card you'd get if you went to a store right now and bought one.

Too much memory is better than not enough. I would rather have all my pictures on a bigger (2GB) card instead of managing many cards or having "card full" come up when I want to take a pictur. Works in Canon camera I have and performs great.

Strengths: Extra GB compared to most cards sold. Very fast and lots of storage space. Works with many types of devices.

Weakness: Can't think of any. The device is perfect, fast seek time and a much lower price than I've seen elsewhere.

the 2GB SD card is great. It fits in my card slot on my Laptop as well as the slot on my pocket pc, and the SD slot on my MP3 player. I also use it in a USB adapter and it works great for moving files between devices. I can take a whole lot of stuff home for the weekend and get some work done.

2.0 SD Card

Strengths: Memory. Can put up to 1000 images or 90 minutes of video on my kodak c875

Weakness: Incredibly slow from the start up

There is at least a 10 second delay from the time the camera is turned on to the time you can point a shoot. Double that lag time if you have images stored on the card. I only use the card for videos now and bought a 512mg card which is great for pictures.

Good SD Card

Strengths: Durable and easy to use in multiple devices.

This is a great card. I slid it into my iPAQ and it was immediately recognized with no issues. I was then able to place MP3s, pictures and installed programs onto it.

2.0 GIG Pic Card

I bought this product for the capacity of making short movies and knowing I can get a lot more pics on my card. I take a lot of pics so I need more room. And it has work out great.

Strengths: Compact size, compatible with my PDA (iPAQ)

I bought this SD to store music for my iPAQ. It is compatible with mind and work really well. I got it at below $50 (July 2006) which is pretty good deal and I am happy with it.

I recommend this product to those who are using cameras ,cell phones and other flash drive devices;You can not go wrong with the capacity this product holds.I have downloaded movies,pictures,and music to this card.It holds way more then a 1GB card.

A great SD card from SanDisk

Strengths: High capacity. Affordable price.

Weakness: Not as fast as SanDisk Ultra series.

I bought this card for my Dell Axim X51V handheld. It works great without any problems. Although the speed of this card is not that fast compare to other high-speed SD cards, it is fast enough for a handheld. Also the price of this card is very affordable. Highly recommend to people who want a high capacity card for general uses.

I use it to store my mp3 files, transfer big movies. It gives a huge space. And I have never got any problem with it. It's a great memory card.
