Great chip

Strengths: Solid performer. Highest stock clock speed for the 939 X2 besides the 4800

Weakness: None

Ibought this from Mwave just after the price plummets to $242 (now $246). What a steal. this chip listed last month for $547. Solid dual core performance without the need to overclock.

Excellent product...again by AMD.

Strengths: Very fast, easy installation, good potential for overclocking (though fast enough to not need overclocking), probably best processor for the price.

Weakness: None.

I used this processor to replace my Athlon 64 X2 3800+ processor and noticed an immediate increase in the speed of startup, video and audio encoding, multitasking and speech recognition software. I saw on another website approximately 7 months ago that the 3800+ processor was the best processor for the price. With the lowering of prices, I believe the 4600+ has taken over the top spot for best performance for the price. I recommend this stable, fast and relatively inexpensive processor to anyone with the need for high bandwidth or simply a desire to be awed by technology.

They're going fast! Get it while you can!

Strengths: Fast dual core, excellent multi-tasking, massive heat sink, 3 year warranty.

Weakness: Are you kidding?

Upgraded from a 3500+. Just removed the old cpu & popped in this bad boy. Took less than 15 minutes. Did not have to reinstall XP! Booted right up. There is a dual core optimizer utility on AMD's website that I downloaded & installed. This thing runs fast and cool! Idles around 34 celsius. No lag time when running multiple apps! If you're considering buying this chip I wouldn't wait too long. All the socket 939 cpu's are going fast! The x2 4800+ is almost impossible to get, and the FX-60 is still way too expensive! Don't wait another second. Grab this while you can! You won't be sorry.

Great Processor

Strengths: Excellent upgrade from the 3500+. The 3500+ used to run 30%-50%, now the 4600+ runs less than 5% in the same situations

Weakness: none

I bought this from NewEgg.com... for a little over $200. What an excellent price! The 4600+ is an excellent upgrade for all that are still running a single core CPU.

EXTREME...

Strengths: 2x128KBL1,2x512KBL2,HYPERTRANSPORT 2.0(1000MHzx2),ULTRA LOW LATENCY,MMX,MMX+,3DNOW!,3DNOW!+,3DNOW! PROFESSIONAL,SSE,SSE2,SSE3,NxBit,AMD64,X86-64,AND MORE...

Weakness: NO ONE!!!

THIS PROCESSOR HAS 12X MULTIPLIER SO, YOU CAN OVERCLOCK IT EASY AT 3.0GHz AND BEYOND (EXAMPLE: 250x12=3000MHz WITH HTT MULTIPLIER AT 4X)WITH A GOOD MOBO LIKE MSI K8N DIAMOND PLUS OR DFI MOBOS.

Awesome

Strengths: Fast. Dual core. Good price/performance ratio. Easy to install. AMD. Socket 939 is well established, so many motherboards support this.

Weakness: None.

Installed in my Abit KN8 SLi motherboard in under 1 hour, along with the AMD dual core drivers. Everything runs noticeably faster, and smoother - I can play a game while compressing large files without frame rate drops. I overclocked mine to 2.7GHz easily on stock voltage. The heat sink that comes with it is quite good at cooling this CPU, as it has 4 copper heat pipes. I highly recommend this processor if you don't already own one, get it, you will not be disappointed.

Athlon 64 X2 4600+

Strengths: Great performance for the price - especially with AMD's recent "across the board" price reductions.

Weakness: None

I installed this processor with an ASUS motherboard and have been very pleased with the performance and stability. I have used AMD CPUs for 10+ years and have always found them equal to, and sometimes superior, to equivalent Intel offerings.

Excellent value

Strengths: Great price point... just a few dollars more than the 4400+ but a lot cheaper than the next highest processor which is the 4800+

Weakness: None.

Overall a great purchase. This is the first AMD system i've personally built and I was contemplating building a Core2Duo system but I already had some leftover DDR ram and an extra Socket 939 mobo. Couldn't argue w/ the price since this 4600+ was only $5 more than a 4400+ but $60 cheaper than a 4800+.
