Motorola RAZR V3 Black Cell Phone - Unlocked

Strengths: Well Designed, Good Signal, Great sound quality, very nice picture uality, battery life is very good if you don't play too much games or too much music. Bluetooth functionality works great!

Weakness: Lacks 2.5mm jack for a wired headset for those who may want to stick to a corded headset. unless they sell headsets with the mini usb connector!?!

I previously owned a Samsung A540 was an ok phone but never lasted more than 2 days on standby modes and wasn't in colour. I upgraded to the Motorola Razr V3c with Telus Mobility. Awesome buy!!! Lasts 4+ days on standby and longer if you don't play with all the other features. I use a Motorola Bluetooth adapter to do my music transfers. VERY IMPRESSED BY THE RAZR! I would recommend this phone to everyone. But I recommend buying a case of some sort because it is apparently less resistant to scratches.

Excellent Phone!! Glad I got it

Strengths: Very thin, light, bright, great resolution and color, java support, picture phone, good battery life, plugs into USB slot for charging and data

Weakness: not able to expand memory, camera isn't that great

I have to say, this was the best cell phone upgrade I've ever gotten.

Physical Traits:
The Razr is light, and amazingly thin. I can barely feel it in my pocket, rather than the giant bulge of my old phone. Even though it is thin and light, it is wide enough to be useful. The buttons aren't so small that my fingers can't use them. (I've had this problem with some phones)

Useful Features:
Assigning your own functions to the different buttons is very nice. The screen on the outside (when flipped closed) allows for a picture in color, while also displaying all the vital info (time, signal strength, battery meter). One of my favorite features is that the only plug on the phone is a mini-usb plug. Plug your phone into a USB port on your computer and you have an instant charger! And if you buy the Motorola Phone Tools, you can transfer pictures, make your own ring tones, backup your contacts, all while charging the phone.

Misc:
Battery life is really very good. I only have to charge the phone every couple days. Keep in mind though, if you use the camera a lot, spend a long time talking, or play games on it... these things DO take a good deal of power.

The Bluetooth is easy to use and works well for voice or data.

Cons:
Camera quality. Face it, cell phone cameras don't take good pics. They can be fun or useful, but if you want to make prints, use a real digital camera. This is to be expected.

I do with there was a flash memory slot in this phone. With all it is capable of, I'd love to pay a little extra and have it hold a lot more.

The telephone is good enough, but very limited in memory. So if you wanna play MP3 songs or record a video you better look for another model.

The Motorola Razr V3 has excellent color, clarity, ultra-thin design, blue tooth, and camera that makes it an excellent choice on a journey. I particularly liked its performance during a trip, as it fits snugly into my shirt pocket.

Meanwhile the Sprint PCS Phone C290 by Motorola has cool features too. It has functions like chat option, e-surfing, downloading images, ringers and games. Besides, you get ring tones, can identify different callers with diffreent tones, movies and themes. Check it out!

Nice Phone

Strengths: Small size, it will fit in your pocket and you won't feel it . The battery life is also amazing. It usually lasts me for a week before I have to recharge again. It's also packed with features.

Weakness: It's still the same old Motorola software (similar to my previous V300 software). Motorola needs an OS upgrade. Also, it's a fingerprint magnet due to it's nice finish. ARGH!

I also got awesome reception compared to my old V300. It may be because of my new carrier (Cingular over T-mobile) instead of my phone, so I decided to put it here instead.

Amazing even with a few negatives...

Strengths: thin & light (perfect for dropping in a pocket), battery life, sharp innovative design, easy to use, strong bluetooth signal,

Weakness: volume a bit low, screens attract every finger print & grease within a mile, speaker phone not very clear,

Overall, this is a wild high-tech phone that people still crave is just great. Even with the negatives, based on the innovative design this phone is ideal. I would highly recommend this phone to anyone considering it.

Great new Motorola RAZR V3 black

Strengths: This product is great light weight and very attractive. Battery live is great lasts for at least 3 to 4 days strait.

Weakness: Doesn't make movies like some picture phones. Hard to find a car charger other than the original from cingular. Other wise great great phone

I bought my motorola RAZR V3 from Vin Sabnani's company and they were wonderful, great and prompt company. No hassels. If you want this product his company is the cheapest around.

Best Coverage and Service ever

Strengths: Service is always strong

Weakness: none so far

I formaly was a T-Mobile member. I had a side kick. My biggest problem was that at night the data service would go out my signal was always weak and if I were moving fast in a car the data signal was weak.

I have had cingular going on two weeks and the service is spectacular. I haven't lost signal for either data or voice services and the CS is great even though I had heard other wise.

GReAt PhOnE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Strengths: It has very tough plates which most cell phone buyers appreciate. Great clarity when in use. EXTREMLY well built camera with tons of options when taking pictures or making videos! And a cool key pad!!!

Weakness: Charger can be confusing because of the size of the opening in the phone and the fact that the prongs fold over.

Over all I have LOVED this phone I am quite glad I have it! The sleek design make this phone even cooler if you don't count the liquid crystal screen, the cool ringtones it comes with and much much more!!!! If you choose to buy this phone you will NOT regret it just ask anyone with a razor and they will tell you the same thing. The having to fork over all the money is worth it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Cool looking but lack QC

Very slim and light weight that will entice people to buy this phone. It also has a contemporarily and hardy look but yet elegant in shape.

I can hear unpleasant humming noise whenever I flip open the unit. Even after changing another unit, problem sill occurs. I also dislike the address book structure and it is not user friendly at all.

Motorola RAZR V3 Black Cell Phone - Unlocked

Strengths: Design and features

Weakness: Could use a memory card.

The screen is very hard to see in sunlight. The display should be bright enough to see in bright sunlight. You can not listen to recorded messages on the speaker only on the earphone. The instruction manual does not supply detailed information. A suplement manual should be available to provide more information even if you have to purchase it.

Classy Phone!

Strengths: Great design and easy to use. Nice picture and video capture.

Weakness: Nice surface makes it easy to smear with fingerprints.

I'm not sure why others are saying it doesn't have video capture. Mine sure does and I've used it several times in the two weeks I've had the phone.
I purchased my phone. I wonder if that might make the difference in features? Those getting it free with a contract may get a different "version" of the phone?
Mine came with a small library of ringtones. I've also added my own. I think it's great that it also has a ringtone "mixer" so I can create them if I want.
I'm also pleased with the (optional) software that allows me to transfer images and data from/to my computer.
The phone works great with the bluetooth headset.
I love being able to associate pictures with phonenumbers. I also use the voice activated dialing extensively. It's a great feature to use while driving (if you must).
This was a very cool early Christmas present to myself.

I've just purchased the Verizon Wireless RAZR v3c and I absolutely LOVE it! However....even with Motorola Phone Tools 4.0 I can't seem to transfer pictures to/from my phone/pc. I've researched all over the net and some say you can/can't transfer...even with bluetooth.

Can anyone help me out regarding getting my phone to transfer pics?

Thanks!

Saved by the cool covers

Strengths: Doesn't drop me off like that 180v Motorola. The appliques are fun and protective at the same time. They really stay on until you take them off. Ones for the screens are a must. Reduce smears.

Weakness: I was really worried about the scratches I'd read about until I put on a cover.

Not all covers are the same. I've ordered several on ebay (about $3 apiece). The animal prints seem to look more like they actually came with the phone. I'm probably going to be getting about 2 months of wear each, but I'll be bored with them by then anyway. I like the plug in (even charges while it's hooked to the pc) and have a midi assigned for everyone I know. Camera isn't awesome, but very handy and can be fun. I'm still learning it and having fun as I do. The software cds by Motorola are pretty handy and have a lot of stuff on them. I have barely begun to crack the surface on them. Bottomline, as long as you have the cable and midis or mp3's on your pc you can just scan for them and put them on the phone.

Motorola RAZR V3 Black Cell Phone - Unlocked

Strengths: Small, slim size

Weakness: Can not read screen in sunlight. One ring tone

Phone was free with one year of T-Mobile thru Wirefly.com, but if I had know how difficult it is to read in the sunlight I would have picked another phone. Customer service at wirefly and t-mobile has been great. Motorola CS was..."it's that kind of screen that's difficult to read in sunlight". My phone is a silver OEM version.

Awesome Overall

Strengths: Very slim and has a large screen, bluetooth has excellent range, speaker phone

Weakness: Camera isnt the best and has could use more then just a calender. small internal memory

Overall its a good phone. The bluetooth has a very long range I can leave the phone on the second story and walk anywhere in the house and it stays at the top signal. Could use more internal memory for games and pictures. It has crashed once or twice after hours of monopoly, but I wouldnt let that deture you. This phone is easily modified to bring out extra features, I would definately recommend doing this if you know how to use a computer reletively well.

Pretty good

Strengths: Attractive body, brilliant screen, everything else is great.

Weakness: The phone book is terrible and confusing. Sometimes it resets personalized settings. Don't always get service....

It's a nice phone. Good for teenagers or people who don't use their phone for business. It has a nice body but the phonebook doesn't let you add more thna one number to a contact and if you do it duplicates the contact and adds it with that other number which I personally find annoying.

Motorola V3 Razr is being replaced by Motorola V3i

Strengths: Megapixe,Itunes,external memory

Weakness: same looks and size as V3

I think V3 razr a good price phone but now that I have bought my new V3i from Romeohifi.com at about the same price as V3 Razr now I think that V3i is a better bargain. It has megapixel camera and external memory and Itunes. I will take V3i over the V3 any day.

You have got to be kidding...

Strengths: None

Weakness: Battery Life

I purchased this phone through Verizon on October fifth 2006 and within two moths had problems with it. It would not charge so I brought the phone into a Verizon dealer on December 7th 2006 and they said the phone had water damage. I don't see how, because I am careful with my phones. So they gave me a new one. When I brought this one home I charged it and I took into to work with me the next day. The charge was down to one bar by 4:00 p.m. I had not even used the phone. I was going to go back to Verizon again, but decided to wait. It was the Xmas season and I was busy. I brought it in after the 1st of the year. They said water damage again. Hello!!!!!!!!!!!! So unless I sweat profusely or sit the dam phone in the sink or toilet, how could I be so careless. I have had other phones in the past and have never experienced this issue. They told me I had to file a claim to get a new one. Thank god i had insurance. I did not want another Motorola V3 piece of crap phone. I called Verizon back and asked if I could reconnect my last phone which was an LG and they said okay. I'm very thankful I could do this. For all that is said and done. Who has time to run back and forth over a stupid phone, because it is the lastest trendy phone. Who cares. I just want what I bought to work and not consume my valuable time by running around trying to resolve phone issues. Motorola V3 Is the pit of epitome.

This is a great phone. It is slim and light, but full of features and its easy to use. My only complaint is it came with a european AC plug, but a conversion adaptor was included.

Thin, but that's it.

Strengths: Thin, loud ringer, big screen.

Weakness: Short battery life, unreliable, fragile.

This phone isn't the worst phone I've owned, but for the money, it's the worst value. The short battery life is very annoying. I tried dimming the display, shortening the backlight time, even eliminating the background picture. There just is no way to make this phone stay charged for more than 8 hours. After 8 months my battery was so bad that I bought a new one. I still can't get 8 hours out of a charge.

The phone has done some very annoying things like: roll over in the middle of a call. Lose it's screen so I had to turn it off and on again to get it back. And shortly after I got it, the screen got dirt in it, and part of it has been obscured ever since.

Unsatisfied!!!!!!

Strengths: I like that it has a wide screen and is user friendly.

Weakness: It is too lightweight. I constantly drpo it while driving. The numbers are easily misdialed.

I think the address book isn't user friendly. Like the i730, you should be able to store more than 1 number per name in the adress book. Having to scroll through multiple listings is inconvenient and time consuming. Too easy to dop, too lightweight, lousy ring tomes!!!! I definetily would not recommend this phone to anyone. I drop it while driving and while dialing CONSTANTLY!! I have had this phone for almost 8 mos. I hate it! I miss my 1730. The large screen on the razr is the only thing I like about it.

V3 RAZR - Buyer Beware

Strengths: Great size of screen and keypad

Weakness: KEYPAD

My cell phone is my ONLY phone. It must be reliable. I'm not hard on cell phones. I use it to make calls (maybe 200-300 minutes per month), and take a few pictures and some video. That's it.

I purchased a new V3 RAZR on 12/5/05. The screen and keypad were large and easy to read; I enjoyed being able to make calls and see who was calling me without my reading glasses. At Christmas, I received a bluetooth headset, which the phone never recognized. My mistake was assuming this was a headset issue, not the phone.

In June 2006, the keypad failed. Only ON/OFF and zero worked. Since I had not purchased the insurance, I was not eligible for a new Razr. I was sent reconditioned handsets.

First handset: Keypad failed in four weeks;
Second handset: Keypad failed in three weeks;
Third handset: Stopped taking pictures and video; I had to turn the phone
off to get out of that mode. This was NOT acceptable as I
enjoyed taking pictures of my grandchild.
Fourth handset: Keypad failure in 48 HOURS

At this point, I was given a choice: Another reconditioned V3 Razr or a (new) different model phone (Slivr). I accepted the new Slivr, with which I am NOT thrilled. I HAVE to wear my reading glasses to use it.

Motorola RAZR V3 Black Cell Phone - Unlocked

Strengths: The phone seems to work well, looks good, and has a lot of great features.

Weakness: Battery does not last as long as my previous phone, but with the extra features, (ie..camera, etc.) I guess that is to be expected. The earbud provided is so large it barely stays in my ear.

I am still learning all the features of my phone. So far I really enjoy it. I don't know if I would have purchased the black phone had I known how easy it is to lose in my purse.

External button design is miserable

Strengths: Good clarity, lots of features, slim

Weakness: Lousy external control button design, front screen too small

I bought my V3 Razr about six months ago because I needed a reliable "tool", not for its entertainment value. I'm not a heavy user but when I get a call it's important and missed calls are unacceptable, especially when you pay a premium price for a Motorola product. My complaint is that the ring control button must have been designed by an idiot since it's located on the outside of the phone and there is no protection from accidentally resetting the ring features. For example, I tend to open the Razr with one hand and it's very easy to accidentally press the ring control button and reset the ringer to "off" withhout realizing it. This can also happen if you carry the phone in a belt case (I love to demonstrate this because it's so easy!)or even in your pants pocket. I have missed numerous calls because of this design oversight and I'm now searching for a suitable replacement phone. I'm amazed that Motorola would actually approve such a poor design. If they had electronically interlocked the button so that it was inactive whenever the case was closed that would have been BRILLIANT! The current design is instead incredibly STUPID! Potential buyer beware!

Never buy Motorola

Strengths: Only the look is sleek

Weakness: Most unfriendly Menus, phone book entries are complicated, ringtones are useless if using bluetooth, many of the keys on the phone can't be re-programmed.

I wonder why people are so hyped about this piece of junk. Most of the features are absolutely not user-friendly. for instance, if someone were to call you 3 times, the phone only records the last time they called you. And only 10 numbers are stored in the received calls and 10 in the dialled calls. Phone book is so complicated. If you enter 3 or more numbers for one person, you can't review them, you have to re-enter the phone book and use the arrow keys to review them. There is a "more" option when entering a contact - if you press that, you get another menu - this becomes more complicated. Another major defect is you can't easlily lock and unlock the keys. And for pete's sake don't set any code with the sim card - you will be lost forever. You can't store numbers in the Sim Card with easy menus... I can go on. I have only used it for a month, and even for a very Tech savvy person like me, this phone is very cumbersome. So Don't buy it.. I am waiting for my rebate to come through and I am changing phones.

This phone sucks!

Strengths: Cool sleek design

Weakness: Where do I begin. Battery life, buttons on the side of the phone, reception, functionality, and I haven't used the camera

Motorola, please give me a phone that is a really good phone. Not a camera, not an MP3 player...I have those.

The buttons on the side of the phone control your ringer. Putting the phone in your pocket often pushes the buttons and turns your ringer off.

I don't know if it's the phone's reception or Verizons, but I often have no signal or limited reception, missing calls and voicemails. The menu selection is not user friendly. Too many clicks to get what you want.

I'm at the point of telling everyone to not purchase this phone...or anything else from Motorola.

You are right. This is the worst phone I have ever had. I returned it twice. I finally gave up and exchanged it for the lg vx8100 which is a great phone. My daughter also returned hers and while we were in the store there were 6 people returning their razors also. I had to charge it 2 times a day to keep a charge and that's with barely talking on it. I told Verizon if I had to keep this phone for 2 yrs it was not going to last and they need to replace it. After going back and forth they finally agreed. Return it if you haven't already.

The phone's not a piece of junk, and Motorola's fine. The problem is your carrier... Diff carriers have different versions of the phone. I know Verizon has a bunch of features locked and their OS is HORRIBLE. The version that's available in Canada through Telus Mobility works great! No complaints about it aside from it scratches fairly easy.

The worst from a lazy company

Strengths: slim size

Weakness: Battery life, many software bugs, reception quality (at least with Verizon), picture quality, hard to dial flat keys, automatic quick-dial numbers, impossible to see screen in the light

I cannot understand why other reviewers say they have good battery life. The only explanation, they never had another phone. If I take this phone into a large building (at work) the phone is dead in 5 hours. I checked if only mine was doing that, but my wife's did too. I got a new battery, it still dies. It dies because the phone keeps trying to reach the network. I dont know what Nokia did, but I never experienced the problem with Nokia and now with LG phones. Even if the battery capacity is relatively low, software can easily cure the problem by limiting the attempts to reach the network after 3 failed attempts. If the phone keeps trying every 10 minutes instead of every 5 seconds, it would not die out. Hey, do not leave home without a charger if you have this phone!
Another silly problem, if you set the alarm it will not stop unless the user turns it off. So if you leave your phone in the car (like during a concert) and the alarm goes off, you will come back to a dead phone. Every other manufacturer limits the alarm sound to one minute. Why doesn't Motorola? Because they are lazy!
Some other stupid features include setting up the calendar where the time "to" does not change to and hour after the time "from", so if you do not notice, the alarm does not go off at all.
This phone assigns the quick dial numbers for you in a sequential way, that makes no sense! So if you want to set them in a logical order, you have a long work ahead of you to reassign all the numbers.
Comparing the picture quality to that of LG was a shock I did not expect. Motorola is so fuzzy that the 1.3 million pixels make no difference. It is ridiculous, the pics are 100% useless.
Most of the features you can never use because battery life is way too short.
And the most irritating "feature", Motorola knows the phone has so many bugs, but has no plans to issue a new software upgrade. So I have 16 more months to wait b4 I get a phone from a company that is worth my money.

Lives up to all the hype & THEN SOME....

Strengths: Size, Style, Features, Reception, Screen resolution & Size

Weakness: Camera should have a better zoom, MP3 rings should come standard, software?

I currently use a powerhouse PalmOne Treo 650, but it is a little bulky for use every where. So I bought a Razr V3 & was amazed that Motorola got something so right. Not a huge fan of the older Motorola's ever changing interface, I was skeptical. This doubts started to wear away the moment I picked it little slim metal body up. It was cold to the touch, but oh so cool. As you flip up the screen, you are dazzled how big a screen it has. The buttons are something from a sci-fi flick. They are metal too, with a hint of rubber. The blue hue that comes from them is dazzling to the senses. The smart buttons are nicely placed & the internal system let's you control all the soft keys. I am finding new features as I use the unit, but I do wish that it offered more standard stuff, like MP3 & videos. I know they want us to buy all of this fancy stuff, but at least give me a good taste. Thus phone is one of the most exciting to hit the American market in years & sets a new standard in how form can be integrated with function. Nice job Motorola.

RAZR

Strengths: sleek design, large screen, keypad

Weakness: expensive, need more megapixels for the camera

I've owned my RAZR phone for over a year now and really don't have anything negative to say about it. It is one of the most advanced phones on the market today. I highly recommend the RAZR. I'm planning on purchasing the RAZR V3i in the near future.

CRAPPAROLA!!!!

Strengths: NONE!!!!!!!

Weakness: EVERYTHING THAT HAS GOT TO DO WITH IT!!!!

THIS PHONE IS A HUNK OF JUNK!!! YOU DON'T EVEN CALL IT A V3 YOU CALL IT A VCA (VERY CRAPPY APPLIANCE). I ONLY HAD IT FOR 2 WEEKS AND IT STUFFED UP. IT SPENDS MORE TIME GETTING FIXED THEN I GET TO USE IT AND I TELL EVERYONE I KNOW NOT TO BUY A MOTOROLA OF ANY SORT. TELSTRA'S POLICY FOR REPAIR OR REPLACEMNT IS RIDICULOUS! YOU SPEND JUST AS MUCH AS IT COST TO BUY THE PHONE TO SEND IT FOR REPAIR IF YOU LIVE IN A REMOTE AREA BEFORE THEY REPLACE IT WITH ANOTHER PIECE OF CRAP. TELSTRA TELLS YOU THAT THERE IS NOT MANY PROBLEMS WITH THIS MOTOROLA CRAPPAROLA SO WHY DON'T THEY REPLACE IT IMMEDIATELY?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Feels like a cheap knock-off, not a real MOTO

Strengths: pretty black color

Weakness: ear-speaker went out in less than 2 weeks of light use, flimsy build quality, recharge port loose and unreliable

This phone is obviously the Euro model (spelling things like "centre", "colour", etc) and has a very light, cheap, plastic feel to it that is worrisome. The ear-speaker went out in less than 2 weeks of very light, gentle use, forcing me to use the speakerphone or Bluetooth to hear a call or anything. The recharge port is loose and unreliable, flickering between "dead" and "fully charged"... DO NOT buy this phone. The user manual looks like it was copied cheaply rather than printed by Motorola, so I strongly suspect this is a very bad, cheap knock=-off.

RAZR V3

Strengths: Thinest flip phone making it very easy to carry. I use it only as a phone and I use the Bluetooth feature.

Weakness: Keyboard feel and no feedback when key is pressed.

The one I bought was supposed to be new. Wouldn't charge battery. Reseller sent me 2 other new batteries promptly, which I appreciated, but I determined it was the original (new?) charger causing the problem. Output voltage was present from it, but not enough current to charge the battery past a minimum charge. I just bought a new one myself on the web.
I'm sorry I didn't go ahead and buy the RAZR V8 (T-Mobile version - the V9 is for AT&T) and I probably will in the near future. Hopefully, I will like it better.

Awesome Phone!!!

Strengths: Easy to use and cool features

Weakness: None :)

I have this phone on the Straight Talk service as well and seriously couldn't be happier. It is saving my family SO much money and with it being on the Verizon network, I'm getting awesome coverage. This Razor + Straight Talk = BEST DEAL AROUND HANDS DOWN!!!

I have it with straight talk

Strengths: everything

Weakness: nothing

I have this phone on the straight talk service from walmart, needless to say, I love this phone. Not only is this phone thin and sleek it gets great reception. I guess I should probably also mention that ST is on the Verizon network which I hear is the best network. Look at this phone and straight talk.

Stay Away!

Strengths: Thin, cool looking, phone with camera and short video

Weakness: Difficult to hear, impossible to see screen outside during the day

I am extremely disappointed with the RAZR. I have had mine a year-and-a-half and it just died on me completely. I have heard of quite a few people with this problem. Of course, the warranty is only one year, so that is that. I would not buy this phone again under any circumstances--even if free!

Motorola RAZR V3m Cell Phone Review

The Motorola Razr V3m is the latest iteration in Motorola’s lineup of Razr. The Razr series has to be considered one of the most successful families of phones of all time. Their success has been drive by looks, as the Razr pioneered the “thin” look.
