10000 to 15 15000 RPM HDDThe Velociraptor which is rebage here as a Lenovo Hard drive is a Western Digital Velociraptor Hardrive 300 GB @ 10000 RPM The same hard drive is also available in 450 and 600 GB @ 10000 RPM. A Similar drive the Savvio by Seagate is available in different storage size and in speeds of 10000 and15000 RPM. These drives are good for the lap top T510 and W510 since they have the same connector SATA. At the moment I am waiting for a 450 and a 600 GB velociraptor to use with the T510 which I purchase about three weeks ago. I will consider to get the Seagate Savvio 2.5 in 10000 and 15000 RPM Flavors. As of now i am run testing the machine with the 1 TB Western Digital @ 5200 RPM and the Samsung 1 TB @5400 RPM and my opinion is the machine runs super cool with both drives. TheWertern digital Drive you can get it thru an upgrade of hard drives at the Wester Digital site and the Samsung one could be purchase at Micro Center for US$109.99. Fast Drive
This 2.5 Enterprise hard drive could be use as the main hard drive. The T510 and W510 can benefit of this hard drive as well as the Savvio 2.5 hard drives. These drives can be use on the T520 and the W520. The only negative that I see is on the design of the T model is that the tab where the screw to secure the hard drive cover is on the wrong end of the hard drive compartment of the the T thinkpad. This error should be corrected and the hard drives mentioned above will fit with no problem into the T and W Thinkpads. these machines can also benfit of using CF memoriies as hard drives with and adaptor (s) or converters from Addonics Technologies. So much can be achieve with these machines by the owner that the sky is the only limit!!!
