Sandisk 2GB Extreme III Compact Flash Card

Strengths: Speed, reliability.

Weakness: None.

This is the second 2GB Extreme III Compact Flash Card I have. They are the fastest of any of my CF cards, both writing and reading. In my 20D, there is a noticable difference.

SanDisk 2GB Extreme III Compact Flash Card

Strengths: Very fast writes. Good capacity.

Weakness: Not the best value per MB.

While this is a very good CF card, it is slightly slower than Sandisk's 1GB Extreme III card. Prices also make Sandisk's 1GB Extreme III a slightly better deal in terms of cost per MB at this writing. I'd recommend Sandisk's 1 GB card over this one for digital photography unless using a higher end pro camera (10 megapixels or better). A Canon 20D (8.2 megapixels) in RAW mode (no jpeg) can get approximately 105 shots per 1GB card, more than enough unless doing prolonged action sequences.

While this is a very nice card with great performance, at this time the 1GB version is a better deal and more than meets the needs for most photographic uses.

SanDisk 2GB Extreme III CompactFlash Card

Strengths: Very fast read/write and data transfer

Weakness: None

The SanDisk 2GB Extreme III Compact Flash Card is everything you'd want in a digital memory device. It has has a minimum of 20MB/second sequential write and read speed which should satisfy the most demanding of tasks and the 2GB capacity allows for many precious photos to be stored. It is packaged with a mini-CD -- RescuePRO, to recover photos that are accidentally deleted. I haven't had to use the RescuePro but it's certainly a nice thing to be able to fall back on. It also comes with a nice Sandisk pouch to store your flash card. Highly Recommended.

Extreme III 2.0GB SanDisk CF Card

Strengths: Very quick!

This is an excellent source of memory for our Canon EOS20D. This does not slow the camera down at all and we have been extremly pleased with the card. We highly recommend this CF card, you will not be disappointed.

Best deal now

Strengths: Fast transfer rate, lifetime warranty, included CD of data recovery software... SInce Sandisk dropped prices last week best deal around...

Weakness: None that I know of so far

Fast transfer rate takes advantage of the camera system for fast writing from buffer to flash card. This is the fastest CF cars around that I know of with the 20MB/sec transfer rate...

Since Sandisk dropped prices last week best deal around...

Buy the Best -- Now Available at a Reasonable Price...

Strengths: Fastest card out there--when downloading pictures using a card reader, downloading pictures and formatting the card is an incredibly fast process.

Weakness: None.

Ever since this card was released, its price point had been well out of my range (~$200+ for a 2GB card). However, prices for flash memory have been falling like a rock, and I snagged this card for about $100 shipped (B&H Photo). Given that just about all of the premium high-speed name-brand 2GB compact flash cards are within about $20 of each other, it's now a no-brainer--buy the best--THIS CARD!! Not only is it the best card on the market, but now it's at an affordable price point.

Good choice

Strengths: Fast read/write. Large for most day shooting.

Weakness: May be small for shooting many days on hight resolution

I really like this card. I bought it for my Canon Digital Rebel Xt. At the beginning I wasn't sure what to expect, but it really delivers what it promises. Fast on read/write and enough storage to save a day's worth of High Resolution pictures. More if you use medium or low quality.

SanDisk 2GB Extreme III Compact Flash Card

Strengths: fastest card and lifetime warranty

Weakness: relatively expensive. Many devices can't yet take advantage of its speed capabilities

This is an excelent card and is very fast. I'm not sure though just how many devices can actually make use of this extra speed at the moment, but definately a good investment for the future as im sure newer devices will welcome the additional speed available with this card.

Recommend this card for use in any pro-sumer or SLR digital camera.

2GB Extreme III Compact Flash Card

Strengths: Speed, ESP, rugged

Weakness: None

Stepping up from a standard sandisk card this is a big jump in speed. It's at least 3 times faster when using my digital rebel. And downloading pics to the computer is much faster also. It's almost worth buying it just for the time saved, never mind the big capacity.

Seems sluggish -- no noticeable performance...

Strengths: 2GB - that is a lot of storage space! Seems to be rugged.

Weakness: I did not do a formal benchmark, but I expected noticibly faster read and write performance. It runs around the same speed as my 512MB San Disk. (Which is not even an Ultra II)

I like this device, and it has been reliable, but I am dissappointed in I/O performance. I expected to see considerable improvement during uploads to PC. I did not notice this at all. I was told it would be 10X faster than my old San Disk compact flash card -- it is clearly not.

I noticed no performance improvement in writes either. I was hoping for a reduced recovery time between camera shots, and although I did not do a formal benchmark, if there is an improvement it is certainly noticeable.
I don't see myself investing the extra money in an Extreme after this.

SanDisk 2GB Extreme III CF Card

Strengths: Fast write speeds.

Weakness: Pricey.

Extremely fast write speeds. Works great with my Canon 20D. This will hold as many pictures that I will take on any outing. It is pricey, but you usually get what you pay for.

Good Card

Strengths: Very Fast High capacity

Weakness: Price

So far this card works great. I have a 20D and I need to try shooting a large number of continuous shots (beyond the internal buffer) and see how many shots I can take before they start to slow.

Sandisk Extreme III Card

Strengths: Speed, reliability

Weakness: Can get a little pricy

I saw the card recenlty at Imaging Usa Expo At Austin Texas during Jan 2006. The card is fast and realiable. I am getting myself one for my Professional Canon Camera.
Similar products can be found from Kingston and Lexar, but not cheaper.
