Strengths: Good interface to accounting software (Quicken, Money, etc).
Weaknesses: Focus is on income rather than deductions. Would like to be more agressive in locating business deductions.
Summary: I have been using this product for my 1040 Schedule C business for several years. It does the best of all the products I have reviewed for interfacing with my Quickbooks and Money accounts. It does appear to focus more on the capture of income, to insure you do not miss any income, rather than focus on deductions. I would like to see more aggressive deduction finder for business related expenses.

Strengths: Ease of use, tax subject coverage, importing of W2's. Multiple entry options throughout. Integration to past information for basic entry and comparisons/analysis.
Weaknesses: Not sure if this is TurboTax or the sources, but trying to get 1099 information has never really worked well. Would like it to work like the W2 import process, instead of web site sign-on.
Summary: We have a multitude of income and expense/deduction options every year, and TurboTax Home & Business covers all of them to my satisfaction.
Some of the tax areas are the same for me each year, so they are very quick and easy to input. There are new ones too, and TuboTax allows me to easily switch to a guided mode for help.
I'm sure there are competitive products that may have some better features or whatever, but TurboTax is my product of choice.

Strengths: Cheaper than an accountant, easy to follow, clear pop-up explanations
Weaknesses: None
Summary: A few years ago I made the move from seeing an accountant on a regular basis to using TurboTax Home & Business. I'm very glad I made the switch. TurboTax has always been easy to use, and the 2007 ed. is no exception. I'm not particularly savvy about filling out tax forms, but TurboTax is very good at explaining everything I need to know. One important feature is that the screens do not provide enormous amount of instruction, but instead allow you to click on links when you want more explanation of a topic - I used this feature in certain scenarios and not in others. Overall, I'm very pleased with this product.

Strengths: Online updates for changing IRS laws. Comprehensive functionality.
Weaknesses: Interface changes from year to year - must re-learn. Good features get removed/replaced with "simpler" ones that are less functional.
Summary: TurboTax Home and Business is a good all-around product. I probably wouldn't buy a different tax prep package since I've been using TurboTax for several years and I like the ability to import from a previous year's file and also to import from Quicken/Quickbooks as well. My one main complaint is that the product changes too much from year to year and sometimes some useful features are obscured for simplification/usability. I would rather that TurboTax have some sort of "expert" mode that doesn't change from year to year and presents a consistent and powerful interface. Other than that I am a pretty happy customer and find that the switching costs are probably too much to go to another package.

Strengths: very user friendly to use - no problems using this product.
Weaknesses: you have to pay extra to efile return - one free efile should be included - years ago they did include one free efile
Summary: Very dependable tax return product - highly recommend this for all who file their tax return from home. I have been using the Turbo Tax program for several years would not use nothing else.

Strengths: Does the math for you. Program is slightly easier to use than last year. Interview is more streamlined. Ability to save tax returns as PDF files for records.
Weaknesses: Could use the online help beefed up more.
Summary: Much easier to use the program than to do your own taxes -- although I admit that I do understand the tax code less than if I did my return the old fashioned way. Still, it does save time and frees you from having to worry about math problem. One thing to recognize about all tax software is that your return is only as good as the data you put into it -- garbage in, garbage out. The program will only prevent you from making some mistakes that are inconsistent with the tax codes, not all. Don't rely too much on the different programs' audit feature and internal checks. Still, I find it vastly easier to do my taxes with TurboTax -- and it continues to improve marginally each year.

May not need more than TurboTax Deluxe
Strengths: Clearly and easily leads you through
Weaknesses: May not need more than TurboTax Deluxe
Summary: Clearly and easily leads you through all the possible income sources and write-off categories.
All TurboTax versions could use the following add'l features:
1) to allow you to jump back & forth between your federal and state tax returns
2) to allow you to jump to a certain income or writeoff category instead of having to navigate through each category to get to the category you want to review or revise
3) needs an info section on the various types of 1099-R's for retirement income (e.g. IRA vs annuity vs pension) since so many of us baby boomers are or will be retiring in the near future

Strengths: Ease of use
Weaknesses: Filing fee.
Summary: It keeps getting easier, year after year. The interview seems very comprehensive and easy to understand. The filing fee of $17.95 seems a little high, but it's still worth it.

Strengths: Ease of use
Weaknesses: Some ambiguous areas of understanding/verbage w/instructions
Summary: I have used TurboTax products for several years and have found them to be easy and simple to use. I would highly recommend them to everyone. The TurboTax has expert advice for questions that may arise through the process of the return and I have never experienced the IRS questioning the return due to errors from tax input.

Turbo Tax Home & Business
Strengths: Like the question interface.
Weaknesses: Not as organized as Taxcut
Summary: I bought taxcut also and the calculations are different. I'm not sure which one is correct at this point. There is a major difference in the section 179 calculations for a vehicle.

Turbo Tax Home and Business
Strengths: This product was very easy to use. The step by step process walks you through everything.
Weaknesses: I would have rated it a ten if not for the terrible support. I may try H&R Block software next year because of this reason.
Summary: The live support option was down and unaccessible to me. I had to get help from a friend who processes at H&R Block. I am very dissapointed in the live support option being down for the three days I spent completing my taxes. Otherwise this software gets a 10.

Strengths: Easy to use.
Weaknesses: No free e-file rebate
Summary: The user interface has been improved from 2006. I found navigation to be simpler, and found it easy to find what I was looking for. As another reviewer pointed out, you have to relearn the interface as they change it from year to year, however, I find the interface to be intuitive and was able to adapt to it quickly. The price is a little high, especially since this version did not have a rebate for free e-file.

Strengths: Fairly easy to use. Saves everything so you can come back later.
Weaknesses: I wish there were a little more detailed instructions on some of the questions.
Summary: I definitely reccommend this product for new business owners. I wasn't sure what to do this year, but decided to get this product. It was so helpful! I think I would have gone crazy without it. I also have a friend who decided to buy the product and she is very satisfied as well.

Strengths: Interview technique is great. Covers almost every aspect of personal taxation.I liked the fact that I could choose a particular section at a time.Good graphics for some choices.
Weaknesses: Questions seem repetitive at times.Does not clearly cover inherited investments.I could not get info from 2005 Turbo returns.
Summary: I would recommend this for others as long as there were not extraordinary tax issues. I was looking for more guidance on an inherited investment for which there was no assistance, even with the help screens. The
