Ipod Touch

Strengths: Slim design, easy to use, great menus

Weakness: Short battery life. Trouble connecting to my wireless router that is encrypted.

This is the best ipod yet. It's display is crystal clear. The menus are easy to use. I was able to sync my old songs from my previous ipod without any problems. The only issue I have is connecting to my wireless router for Wi-fi. My router is encrypted but I do not want to decrypt it to pick up the signal since others in my area can catch my signal. I'm sure there is a way around this but I haven't figured it out yet.

All in all this is the perfect gift for the holidays.

iPod Touch

Strengths: The great iPhone interface without having to buy the iPhone (or switch to AT&T for wireless)

Weakness: Battery only lasts a few hours when using device to browse the web.

Bought this great little gadget intent to get a web browser with an added MP3 player. So far, the device is a joy to use at home and at work. It is heavier than it looks but not too much to hold (I think it weighs more than you'd expect because the screen is glass instead of plastic). This device is as thin as an iPod Nano but otherwise roughly the dimensions of a regular iPod or an iPhone. The one gripe I have with it so far is that browsing the web drains the battery in 3-4 hours. Apple didn't post how long the battery would last in that scenario so I imagine, if you use it for just music or just videos with WIFI turned off, the battery will last as advertised. Also, after browsing the web for a while, the device feels noticeably warm to the touch (must be working harder to browse the web than to play music). Overall though, it is a nifty little gadget that I am glad I bought!

Touching is believing!

Strengths: gorgeous screen, wifi, you tube.

Weakness: capacity

If your considering buying the touch then i hope this helps you make up your mind.

The Good -

First off, there are NO more screen defects. those were all worked out in earlier weeks of production.
This is probably the first ipod made that is woth watching a movie on. The screen really is gorgeous and the touch interface is worth all the hoopla.
Doing almost anything on this ipod is fun, because you get to touch and flick through everything.
As always the sound and picture quality is amazing, so no surprises there.
The wifi is quick and safari is the best you can get next to an actual computer.

The Bad -

The 8/16 space. Now it's mainly a problem because of the space video takes up.
I would recommend the 16gb, it gives you plenty of room to switch outthe songs & movies and such you need to take with you.

Music, Internet, Email, Maps, what more could you...

Strengths: Great intuitive interface, wi-fi

Weakness: You can't download podcasts directly from itouch. Impossible to control 'blind' like you can other ipods.

The iTouch easily connects to wireless networks, even with WEP encryption. I use it on my encrypted network at home, at school, and on public networks just about everywhere else I go.
Battery life is quite good if you don't use wireless too much (even better if you turn it off completely).
The interface is so intuitive, anyone can use it right out of the box!
This is probably the only ipod that can't be controlled without looking at it. This could be a problem for you if you mostly use your ipod in the car, etc.
Unfortunately you can't yet download podcasts wirelessly. You have to use iTunes for that. Wireless music downloads work fine.

Ipod Touch

Strengths: -Great User Interface -WIFI -Internet, email - Good Built

Weakness: - Recessed headphone jack

All in all, this is a great device. I love how intuitive and easy to use it is. The way this handles pictures, music, video, and everything else is just great. One of the best things about the Ipod Touch is that it can browse the internet; the great thing is, it can zoom in on anything just right for you to read it.

Finally, a TRUE video iPod.

Strengths: Full 3.5" Color LCD Touchscreen, WiFi for Internet and iTunes, Easy setup, Nice looking product.

Weakness: Short Battery life for video playback, no dock or charger included, gets slightly warm after long use.

Finally a true of video iPod. This unit is exactly like the iPhone, just without the phone, and a few other features. One nice thing about the iPod Touch v.s. the iPhone is that the headphone jack is not recessed. This is nice because you can use any standard earphones, and not just the ones that Apple provides. The unit has WiFi so you can connect to the internet just like the iPhone. You can now also connect to the iTunes music store and buy music, right from your iPod! Some downsides of the feature packed unit is that the battery does not last that long, unless all you do is play back music with the screen turned off. Also, the unit gets warm after a long time of operation. Other then that, this unit is very nice. This is by far one of the best MP3 players that anyone has ever created, and at $299, the price won't brake the bank compared to other look-a-likes.

An iPhone without the phone

Strengths: iPod and Browser in one device

Weakness: Limited memory, few instructions, fingerprints, no power adapter.

If you want the coolest iPod yet check out the Apple iPod touch. This radical design lets you listen to your music as well as browse the internet among other features.

Apple has taken the iPhone and removed the telecommunication capabilities. It is thinner than the iPhone, but has many of its functions. It can play music from iTunes or your CDs. It is a web browswer as well (as long as you have access to wi-fi). There is only one button (HOME) and you just use your fingers to navigate its many features on its 3-1/2 inch screen. The Coverflow feature lets you view your album covers as if in a moving rack. Just touch the album and you can select your music.

There are a few downsides to this attractive iPod. Apple could have boosted the memory. Currently it is available in 8GB (1750 songs) or 16GB (3500 songs). Hopefully, future versions will have more memory at the same price points.

When you open the box, the only instructions is a small foldout giving you absolutely minimal instructions. A mini-manual would have worked better.

Since most functions work with just your finger on the glass screen, it does leave fingerprints. Of course, these can be easily cleaned, but it is a problem if you want to keep it looking clean.

This is a great device and once you get the hang of it, a pleasure to use. If Apple would boost the memory size, it would be an MP3 player for the world to beat.

Ipod Touch 8 GB MP3 Player

Strengths: Touchscreen interface, Bigger Screen than Classic Ipods for watching movies, Wifi Capability

Weakness: Limited memory capacity, Can't play many video formats

Here's my initial thoughts on the new Ipod Touch Player. I love the new interface, but it does take a little time to get used to not having the touch sensitive wheel. The ability to download songs from any Wifi location is a nice perk as well, although no song sharing is a bummer.

The screen is really nice and a major upgrade when watching movies in widescreen on the unit. The unit itself is very thin and light, but I'm not sure its sturdy enough to use while excerising or doing other manual chores.

The downside is that 8GB won't hold many movies after ripping, but as long as you manage your songs and videos with the Itunes software in advance, this shouldn't be an issue. Also doesn't play XVID or AVI video formats, so you'll have to convert to MPEG to play movies.

In summary, if you prefer a bigger screen and more style, then definitely check out this version. If you want more memory and don't watch movies on your ipod, then check out the 80GB Classic version.

ipod Touch

Strengths: WIFI Capability, Very Good Screen, Excellent User Interface. Looks great.

Weakness: Battery Life and Charge Time. Great looking unit is very shinny and smudges are very apparent. No physical volume control.

First, I had read most of the reviews about the new ipod Touch before buying. Most of the negative reviews were about the ipod Touch not being as good a music player as past ipods and I would have to agree. The point that one must consider is that this ipod offers so much more than previous ipod models. First, the screen is top notch and large enough to be able to enjoy a videos. WIFI capabilities, particularly the Safari web browser are fantastic.

On the down side, with WIFI turned on, the battery life could be better, I estimate that I get about 3 hours of battery life with WIFI on, not the 5 hours advertised by Apple.

I still use my ipod mini for listening to music, but for ultra portable web browsing and video playback, this is a very good choice.

Best Toy of 2007

Strengths: Innovation to the Extreme

Weakness: None

I absolutely LOVE this thing. I got it the day they came out, having played with the demo model in the Apple Store until my fingers hurt. The interface is pure GENIOUS. Apple at it's BEST.

Ipod Touch

Strengths: High tech. Touch screen controls.

Weakness: internet connection

I bought this as a gift for christmas and when we had to set up the internet connect it became a bit complicated in which it took about 20 minutes to set up. Afterwards everything else worked fine. The picture for the videos are excellent. One thing that i can't comprehend is why it has contacts options since it's not like you can use it to call someone.

iPod touch 8GB MP3 Player

Strengths: User interface, WiFi, Ipod, Expandibility

Weakness: Lacks External Speaker, Sharp Edging, Add-on Costs

This device may be called an iPod, but don't let that fool you. If you just want an iPod that you can play while your working or exercising this may not be your best choice since you need to see what your doing to control (unlike other mp3 players). But it is what the iPod touch does when your looking at it that is special. In addition to music this device has the capability to be so much more. Just checkout the Apple website for a tour. One not so nice development is that feature updates from Apple will need to be purchased. Apple's January updates cost earlier buyers an additional $20 to add them to the device. If your in the market to purchase this device be sure to know whether your device includes these updates. Amazon is currently selling both revisions at different price points.

For sure the best

Strengths: This ipod is very easy to work and you don't have to go through all the scrolling the same way. The ipod turns diffrent way, it is amazing!!

Weakness: The battery lasts like 1/6 of the time that other ipods do. It is kinda big.

The itouch is has it's flaws but is very compatable. This device will do about anything you want just like the iphone but w/o the other phone (duh) and i love it soooooo much! it is amazing. The only

The Best iPod Yet

Strengths: WiFi, Touch Interface, Lightweight, 3.5" Screen.

Weakness: Battery life is shorter if watching videos.

This is truly the best iPod out there. I previously had an iPod Video 5.5 Generation, this clearly wins. Internet, iTunes, YouTube, no other iPod has had these. A very great product. You can easily overlook the sometimes short battery life and realize that this is a great product.

iPod Touch 8GB MP3 Player

Strengths: Ease of use, touch screen

Weakness: No storage capability, no internal speaker

This is a great MP3 player. I have always wanted an MP3 player and the iPod touch is the best. I really like the cover flow. Accessing playlists is easy and the wi-fi access is great for surfing the web. It plays videos movies and podcasts. The screen is very clear and is just the right size for showing off your pictures.

Really cool IPod

Strengths: Display, screen size, extra features like Internet, You Tube, and ITunes store

Weakness: No camera, doesn't open some websites

I am very satisfied with this IPod touch. It is much cooler than the previous models. It is big enough to watch videos but still really thin and easy to carry. The sleek design makes it much better than the previous IPods. I got the 8GB but I would recommend getting the 16GB so you can fit more videos on there. One of the best aspects of this IPod is the fact that you can access the Internet and You Tube right from it. However, some websites that require "Flash" do not open. The tough screen is great, but sometimes you have to press the button a couple times in order for it to work. It's better than the IPhone because you do not have to pay a subscription fee or anything. It also has a calendar and calculator features. It is not difficult to use. The battery power is really good because you can turn off the display when you are listening to music to conserve the battery. You can also load your photos on the Ipod and even set them as the wallpaper. However, I wish it also had a camera. The display colors/brightness is also really good. Overall, it is a very good MP3 player.

Apple did it again!

Strengths: Attractive design, gorgeous display, slim, ease of use, Wifi with “real” Internet

Weakness: No charger included, battery life could be better, back can be easily scratched, no camera

Apple did it again! The Ipod touch is by far the best portable media player money can buy. Actually calling it just a media player is an understatement. The device is a true piece of art starting from the attractive design which looks very similar to the iPhone, but almost twice slimmer.

The user interface is very innovative featuring the “multi touch” technology which is very intuitive and easy to use. Menus are very user friendly with impressive graphics specially for scrolling your picture, video or music albums.

The device comes with built in Wifi for internet browsing, and is the only portable device –along with the iPhone- that enables you the real Internet like you see it on your home PC and not a stripped down version of it. You can zoom in and out using 2 fingers, see your webpage in portrait or landscape simply by turning the device in the direction you want.

The sound and video quality are great. The video specially is impressive since the 3.5" screen offers a great resolution and a crisp and sharp picture. Almost like having a little plasma TV in the palm of your hand.

I would’ve loved it even more if the battery would last more specially when playing lots of videos or browsing the web. The battery life is decent though if you listen to music more often than watch videos. Also no charger is included, only the USB cable, which means you need to use your PC to charge your ipod. That is kind of annoying specially that the device is not cheap. It wouldn’t have cost Apple that much to throw in a charger or even a nice docking station instead of selling them separately.

Although the screen has some anti scratch coating, I noticed that the shiny back of the device is very easily scratched. Apple should’ve thought of coating the device front and back. Having a camera would’ve also been a nice addition, though the iPhone already comes with it.

Overall, this is a must have gadget for any portable media or technology enthusiast. The 16 GB version is also available if you’re willing to spend a $100 more.
