Lightning-Fast!

Strengths: Speed, stability, ease of installation

Weakness: None thus far

With this processor and an ABIT IP35 Pro mobo, and a mere 2GB of DDR2-800 RAM installed, I obtained the highest Passmark performance rating (900) of any system I ever put together. I chose the Intel Core 2 Duo, rather than the Quad, because I wasn't certain whether the Quad had been on the market long enough to prove its potential superiority. I'm very happy with this CPU and the overall performance and stability of the system I built around it.

E6850 Review

Strengths: Fast, Relatively Low Power & Heat , Dual Core

Weakness: 1333FSB requires some newer boards and or bios

I coupled this processor with a MSI p35 board along with 2gb of patriot extreme ram and 2 Hitachi drives running in raid and what can i say the system is fast. Honestly the fastest system i have had. This is my first dual core and running multiple apps at the same time for the most part is much easier and more forgiving. Games run wonderfully with no lag and very fast load times due to the raid and cpu. With intels price cuts at the moment there is no reason for anyone to no get this cpu at its price. I am and still are an AMD guy but at the moment buying an AMD CPU is not the best bang for your buck. So if you can wait AMD is promising a come back like they always do, if not then get this i am sure it will quench your need for power.

review based on stock performance

Strengths: Performs as expected of speed. Best performance when compared to AMD processors.

Weakness: None so far, since there aren't other brands of similar products to compare with. At this point in time, since quad cores are not needed, this processor is sufficient for everyday use and gaming.

Just a heads up, this processor boots as the 3ghz in bios, but will display lower speed in windows like around 2ghz when no applications are running. This is due to Intel Speedstep (saves power when speed is not needed) not defective product. It scared me at first when I saw my cpu monitoring application fluactuate from 3ghz to 2ghz within a split second.

beast CPU

Strengths: Fast, very fast

Weakness: I don't see it

As many reviewer had said, this is really Mr.flash in CPU market. If you are like me who hesitated between E6850 and Q6600, then just go for this one. You won't be sorry. It leads the industry for the Performance/Price ratio.

Review of Intel Core 2 Duo E6850

Strengths: Fast, low temperature. Not too expensive.

Weakness: None so far.

I had just upgraded my desktop with the following components:

- Intel Core 2 Due E6850
- Asus P5K Deluxe/WiFi-AP
- CoolerMaster Real Power Pro 650W
- 2 x Crucial 2GB DDR2 804 Ballistix Kit
- PNY Nvidia GeForce 8500 GT 256 MB

The first problem I ran into was the system not booting from my HD (Maxtor DIAMONDMAX10 300GB 7200RPM 16MB3GB SATA). It turned out that I had to remove the jumper that forced the drive to SATA 1 speed (150 MB/sec). Once that jumper was removed, the installation of Windows XP completed successfully.

The next problem I had was that Windows XP did not recognize my Maxtor OneTouch III external drive when a FireWire cable was used. The drive was only seen when a USB cable was used. Not sure if this is a problem with XP or with the motherboard.

Anyways, the two problems above are not directly related to the CPU. Going back to the CPU, I was impressed with its speed and operating temperature. I'm using Intel's stock CPU fan and the CPU temperature is at 26C while fan is running at 2960 RPM.

The motherboard was running at little hot (55C) before I installed two 120mm chassis fan (1500 RPM). It's now at 40C.

Overall, I'm quite happy with this setup. Not too expensive. No major problems so far.

Strengths: very fast.It also runs cool. With a Zalman 9700 I get temps at 16c-18c each core

Weakness: None at all

I have been able to OC this to 4GHz and have temps in the middle 20c range.I then installed one of my modified Freezones and temps dropped to the single digits.I was then able to hit 4.6Ghz stable, wi

NA, I wish to replicate your setup. Did you modify the Freezone, or is there a "Modified Freezone" out there to buy? Could you let me know what mobo and any OC software that you used? I appreciate it greatly. Jason

One of the Fastest Dual Cores

Strengths: Fast Processing Fairly cool Temps

Weakness: None

I picked this up after the Intel price drop and is worth every penny. I primarily use it for gaming and there is zero lag. It runs Vista without any problems. I get idle temps in the 20 c range and load temps in the 30's C

Intel E6850 Dual Core CPU

Strengths: Fast, dual core, LGA 775(extremely fool-proof, no pins to bend), rather small in size, cool (temperature-wise), over-clock friendly, 1333mhz FSB, 9x multiplier, price, and much much more...

Weakness: ...Nothing that I can think of.

put this right into your motherboard and you're ready to go. i would highly recommend this processor, specially since the prices are extremely close to the 1000 piece value. Buy it and enjoy!

Put this right into your motherboard and you're ready to go. This processor doesn't look much better compared to my old Pentium 4 3.2 gigahertz, but wait till you encode, or multitask, i have yet to use 40% of this processor... I would highly recommend this processor, specially since the prices are extremely close to the 1000 piece value. Buy it and enjoy!

core 2 duo e6850

Strengths: Nice and fast, runs cool even when overclocked, great price, and 1333 FSB. Crunches video and games super fast compared to my P4 HT 3.6GHz

Weakness: none. In order to take full advantage of this CPU, I need a better video card and faster DDR2 RAM next.

Shipping from this site was very fast. Great price here too. No complaints from me for a great upgrade for my msi p6n diamond mainboard.

E6850 Fast

Strengths: Fast, stable, Intel brand reliability

Weakness: None

I paired this with an Intel DQ35 motherboard and have had no problems with Vista 64. This is much faster then the 2.8ghz P4 it replaced. I have a Antec Nine Hundred case and have no heat issues whatsoever. It was a little expensive, but I'm glad I bought it.

Rock solid

Strengths: Very fast, especially at 3.9Ghz on water. Runs a lot cooler then the quad core.

Weakness: None

Very fast chip.
I would recommend this chip to any one.
A lot less power hungry then the quad.

From the help i got here at clubIt, all my purchases are coming from here.
A+ service and pricing.

Awesome Chip

Strengths: Small and fast

Weakness: none

Great chip, well documented and awesome websit support. This chip is fast, cool, and fits nicely with the Intel D975BX2 motherboard. The chip and motherboard could have been purchase as OEM products since the Intel website clearly provides all the information you could possibly need. Intel products rule!

Core 2 Duo E6850 3GHz

Strengths: Powerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

Weakness: None

If you are tired of waiting for your programs to load and you are drumming your fingers waiting for things to process you may want to consider this processor. Everything I use is running many times faster than before with my ancient Athlon XP2400. The dual processor allows things like a virus scan to run unnoticed in the background.

Runs Fast, Runs Cool, It Rocks!

Strengths: Works very fast

Weakness: None at this point

Easy to install, just push pins down and it snaps into place. This processor can handle all of it and it's very fast and runs very cool. One great chip!

Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 Processor

Strengths: Fast 1333 MHz FSB, 3.0 GHz processor speed, easily overclocked, runs cool.

Weakness: None

The Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 Processor is an outstanding performer with it's 1333 MHz Front Side Bus and 3.0 GHz processor speed. I installed this processor on a new Gigabyte GA-X-38 DQ6 Motherboard and it performs flawlessly. It handles multiple applications with no problem at all and runs quite cool even with the stock heatsink and fan.

Weakness: EasyTune Pro 5 can be a little buggy. Depending on what other programs you have running (in startup) it may fault on startup and it will either no load when you try to start it again or it will.

E6850

Strengths: Fast, low temps

Weakness: None

I am running it on ASUS Maximus Formula with 4GB Crucial Balistix and Vista x64. Processor overclocked to 3.6 with Zalman cooler, and Probe II show tempreratures around 15C idle and 25C under full load, even if you don't believe ASUS Probe, adding another 15C still a good temperature.

e6850

Strengths: Great performance/price point.

Weakness: The stock heatsink/fan mounting, while good in principle in trying to isolate vibration from the motherboard, is a bit difficult to install, especially in a tight case.

This CPU is running very hot w/the stock heatsink/fan inside my HTPC case. I think this may be as much the case as anything else (which I'm giving up on).

Great product!!

Strengths: -Awesome speed -Stock heatsink fan is quiet! (also it comes with one)

Weakness: -Heat, Stock heatsink and fan might need some Artic Silver 5

Strength:
This thing is blazing fast. You can notice it on certain applications where it just launches, extract zips, etc. really fast. But overall it wasn't a HUGE noticable difference compared to my AMD 64 4000+.

Weakness:
Now the weakness state above isn't a complete issue if you have your own heatsink and fan. Plus it isn't too bad as a stock. The stock fan was rated the quietest fans out there. And if your goal is to get a quiet computer...then stick with the stock Intel heatsink and fan that it comes with. It will save you money. (If you want a cooler and still want that cool cpu, look for Scythe Mine revision B.)

Overall:
If you are into gaming, go with this one. I usually go with AMD products, but I have been waiting for AMD for quiet some time to "step" up their game and bring something to the plate. But with recent price drops on Intel's product, it is really burying AMD.

This is more bang for your buck, when playing games, compared to the Quad Core E6600. If you need more speed in other applications, etc. Go for the Quad E6600, because it is about the same price and handles well on certain applications/tools. If you like games, look no further. If you want the best of both worlds and have lots of money to spend, buy the Intel Quad E6850.

Intel Core 2 Duo E6850

The Intel Core 2 Duo E6850 is a 3.00 GHz processor with a 1333MHz FSB and 4MB Cache and falls in the upper half of Intels line of Core 2 Duo Processors. All processors in this line have 2 cores (hence the name) meaning they have two distinct processors on one chip allowing them to work seperately or together on a single large task. These processors also feature next generation Intel Core...
