Sony Multiscan G420SStrengths: Flat screen very sharp text and good colors I love this monitor. Had many years ago Sony SF2 17 inch and was very upset because monitor had lots of problems. Now giving a chance to this one and so far so good. Did you find it helpful or unhelpful? Top

Sony Multiscan G420S
Strengths: Ultra flat screen, great corner to corner alignment, free of distortion. Fine dot pitch. Brilliant little touches: 1). additional connection for a laptop right in front 2). self-centering display.
Weakness: Gets a bit fuzzy in the 'Presentation' mode.
This is a solid performer. Mine's been on almost continually for going on 2 years, and it's still displaying both graphics and text as well as it did the 1st week I bought it. The front connection for a laptop (or for that matter another desktop you may be fiddling with . . .) is pure genius and a feature that Sony was brilliant to introduce. It's a shame they haven't followed up with that feature on their other high-end computer monitors. The three display modes are very useful for adjusting a work session to the type of display characteristics you'll be working under. Sadly, the 420GS is the only Sony monitor I know of with the additional Video connection in the front. I'd buy another one if I could find another Sony with this feature.
