Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: durable, high quality material. ps2 button layout. long battery life. long range.

Weakness: vibration doesn't work with fifa 2005, although it is claimed that it works with EA sports games on the box.

I used both wireless and corded versions. they are both excellent gamepads. they feel good in your hand. wireless one is a bit heavier because of the batteries, but you'll like it better when you get used to it. it has excellent range. it goes to standby after 5 min if you don't use it, and saves battery. led light lets you know when the battery is weak. the only downside is that the vibration doesn't work with every game, especially the EA sports games. thats the only reason i didnt give 5 stars. also you don't need the software if you are using windows XP, you cannot calibrate it after you install the software that came with it.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: Battery life,quality of build

Weakness: button layout..besides that nothing really

Well this is the 4th Logitech wireless (Wireless keyboard/mouse combo-MX DUO,LX500,PS2 wireless controller and this controller for the PC) product I have purchased in the course of a few months and I continue to be very pleased with their products.I gave Logitech a shot many years ago with the purchase of a marble mouse and wasn't too impressed but their wireless products are a different story altogether. The battery life still continues to amaze me.I am not too sure of the battey life rating of this controller BUT I imagine it is on par with the one for the PS2...which since purchasing has NEVER needed new batteries in about roughly 4 months not bad on just a couple of AA batteries (battery life is less with rumble feature activated..don't like rumble myself so keep it off..but even with rumble battery life is something like 50+ hours...amazing..with rumble off..like 70+ plus hours).Setup of this controller is pretty straight forward which starts with installing the software THEN plugging in the controller when prompted to do so (sometimes when installing USB devices, like printers, follow the order of operations and install the software first...trust me saves many a headache later).Actually with this controller tossed the install CD and went directly to the website for updated software/drivers as with almost every computer product always feel its best to start out with the newest software/drivers available. The USB reciever chord is also pretty long so you don't have to worry about it not reaching the computer. The only games I have used it on are old school video system emulators (NES,SNES,etc.) and its works w/o a hitch. The ONLY very small thing I don't like about this controller is the location of the rumble button and the mode button...they should have switched it around with the buttons above it (so use to the SELECT and START buttons being located where the rumble and mode buttons are..kinda messing me up) but like I said very small problem. Not sure if I mentioned it but the build of the controller is very nice.It feels like if it was to be dropped it wouldn't shatter into hundreds of pieces...feels like it can take a beating, durable. This is a really nice controller that doesnt keep you pinned to the small computer screen. Also just got a new video card with an S-Video output feature so got that outputting the desktop to my TV coupled with the wireless controller it feels like owning a few new video game systems when using full screen mode...sweet setup. If you have been eyeballing this controller and wondering if you should get it or not trust me get it you will be very happy with it as I have never been a BIG fan of wireless products BUT they have really improved the over the years.

A must have Gamepad

Strengths: No lag, long battery life, comfortable, long range receptor

Weakness: Vibration doesn't work with many games

The Logitech Rumblepad 2 is awesome. Its wireless with no lag, and fits very nicely in the hands. Being wireless, I can lay down on the bed and play games all day long. I liked this gamepad so much I'm going to purchase another incase a friend comes over.

Good Buy

Strengths: Great controller. Has never lost connection even though it is wireless. Battery life is great (havent replaced the batteries even though I have had it for 3 months). Great with emulators.

Weakness: Have not been able to use the rumble features yet even though I have Madden 05 and NBA Live 05 which are advertised on the box of the logitech rumblepad 2.

This is an awesome controller, fits well to your hand, great with emulators. I purchased the cordless rumblepad 2 from newegg in march 05 for twenty-eight bucks plus five for shipping. I was very pleased with this purchase with the exception of the fact that I have not found a game which supports rumble features.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: It Looks Good that is it

Weakness: The software is very dissapointing and hard for me to figure out.

The GOOD or Pros

OK the game controller is very well built, heavy duty and wire less plus it just looks really good. I have know problem's at all with the game controller's quality.

The Bad or Cons

The software is not what i expected. It was hard for me to figure out how to assign command's to buttons or, how to adjust the sentivety of the joy sticks or D-Pad(or the round flat pad button) logitech gives you a demo game called Ricochet Xtreme, the game is like the old pong game a side to side pad game. i just wonted to use the d-pad to movie it from right to left. The D-Pad was so senitive it would just jump to fast to control from one side of the screen to the other, i could use the small joy stick that was on the pad better but still way to senitive. The game Ricochet Xtreme was controlled best using the mouse. I am not sure why logitech put this game in as a free demo sort of stupid i thought, i think the game may have been design for the mouse pad specifally, not a controller like this.

OK One Game i was able to make, work with the controller, was a game called dungon explorer. The game dungon explorer had away to configure the pad with its software, so i did not have to use the controllers software, but even then the charter in dungon explorer i would have him walking in one direction i was pushing the D-pad and he would just stop for no reason, so i would have to push again with my thump. This game controlled better with the key board.

I just thought maybe it was me, so i just went to the internet and type in this word and did a search i was not suprised with what i found [logitech game pad software sucks]
Guess what i found a ton of people just like me, that are say word's on how they can get, the controller to assign the key commands either. I must say I am very dissapointed the controller is built so well but the software is just a stupid design.

OK it is worth saying if you purchased it for the control you wont be unhappy the controler i would give a 5 Star Rating very very hi qualtiy.

The software Get the One Star Rating.

I am going to return this controller for a full refund.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: good build quality, no interference with 802.11b, good range

Weakness: none

best gamepad I ever owned, I used the software to map the left analog stick to map to mouse so I can use the game pad as cordless mouse as well.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: This controller is great. I just got it and am very pleased with the quality and the range. Its just like playing a computer game with a PS2 controller.

Weakness: None Yet

I would highly recommend this to anyone who enjoys playing PC games and doesnt like the hassle of wires. What is great about this controller is the range it has. For those with large computer screens, this is great because you can sit from a far distance and the controller works great.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: Familiar design that anyone can get the hang of.

Weakness: Controller is not that well built

When I got this controller a few months back I was surprised at it's quality, however overtime some of the buttons would get slightly jammed, not enough to make me stop using it and it was only for a quarter of a second. However, 5 months into using the controller I dropped it while putting on the table and one button stopped working. That tells me that it was poorly wired, and that is a shame. I did like this controller.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: No lag time A little heavy(in a good way)

Weakness: Cant get Madden 2005, NBA 2005 or any other sports games right now to support the rumble feature

When i got this gamepad i was really suprised with the quality. It is a bit heavy but in a good way. It sits really naturally in your hands and the controls are the exact same as many other Logitech controllers(pretty much the same as playstation 2). The only thing i am disappointed about is the fact that i cant get the rumble feature on madden 2005. Logitech and EA sports have been no help. Otherwise this gamepad is by far the best ive ever owned and played with. I highly reccomend, especially if madden ever supports it.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: It is very easy to configure and works for the MAME controller. Its feel is very comfortable and the wireless is definitely a plus.

Weakness: After a couple of uses, the USB human interface cannot be loaded during startup. It needs to be unplugged and plugged the USB connect back again. Maybe it is an initialization issue in windows xp.

Overall a good buy and quality, unfortunately you need to make sure your motherboard supports it thoroughly. For windows xp user, you basically do not need an driver and it will boot up right after the windows starts. You can even go to the control panel to adjust or center the joystick. Like what other users said, it is also widely supported by many games. Therefore compatibility should not be a problem.

A good Game Pad

Strengths: Wireless, Fancy and comfortable.

Weakness: The support is not so good, and I didn't find how to set up a continuous hit.

I have bought this game pad for more than 5 months but didn't use it much - I don't have too much time. But I think this one is very good because I tried and liked it very much. The only drawback is the support is not so good. I tried to use this game pad for my NeoGeo 97 but I can't find how to set up a continuous hit (if it's called so), and made the game so tough for me. I searched the support but couldn't find it either. and the buttons are the way too hard for me and made a pain on my finger.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: Wirelss, Good range, Comfortable grip, No installation needed w/Windows XP.

Weakness: Haven't found any games that support vibration on this gamepad.

First of all, this is great gamepad. Previously, I used generic usb gamepad and this is much better in terms of quality and feature. When I plugged in to my computer, Windows XP recognized it automatically. I didn't have to install software that came with it. Wireless range is pretty good as well. I can play games more freely without cord. I played EA games such as FIFA 2005 and MLB 2005. Like other reviewers said, vibration didn't work with those games. I hope EA supports vibration for this gamepad soon. Anyways, I recommend this gamepad those who are looking for a new gamepad.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: Cheap design but very good at 3D games.

Weakness: The forceback sometimes won't work.

If you need a cordless gamepad, this is the one. The performance in racing games are pretty good. Not sure about other games. Tried in amulation PS games too. But sometimes it seems that the keys have confliction.

Very nice, balanced pad

Strengths: Works perfect for emulators! The analog sticks glide nicely.

Weakness: The digital control pad feels rather flimsy (but works fine).

I love this controller. It works great overall, but there have been a few problems. I installed it first on my laptop with no issues, then tried on my desktop. The pad works, but the software it came with won't recognize it (so I can't configure it with the Logitech software). Both computers use Windows XP. But its fine, I downloaded a free program called Xpadder (www.xpadder.com/...), which works tons better than any logitech software and gave the controller FULL funtionality. Also, the digital pad feels pretty flimsy, like it could brake anytime. Luckily I've had no problems with it yet. All the other buttons feel good and are firm. Great controller, should have bought two!

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: Excellent product. Very responsive, no lag time, very comfortable, large # of buttons, wireless, rumble feature can be turned off

Weakness: None that I have found. The gamepad might be too heavy for some, but considering it is wireless and thus has to contain betteries it is really rather light.

If you are looking for a gamepad this is the one to get. Wireless is the way to go, it gives you much more freedom. Logitech is a great company to buy from. The gamepad's features are top of the line. I highly recommend.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: Smoothly control, power feedback

Weakness: Wired, low quality material

I recently bought this Cordless Rumblepad 2 and it was worth every cent. It runs great on MVP Baseball 2005, Lock On and other games I have. I have many joysticks before and always wanted this one. But it was a toss up with other joystick and the Logitech stick. The only bad thing I seen so far was the feeling of the material. But it true what you pay is what you get. If you are EA Sports game like me, get the edge and take this one home.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: comfortable design, easy use, plug & play, much more function buttons, cordless and vibration feature support!

Weakness: can't find any weaknesses about this product so far!

This is the best one PC controller I ever used!! Super nice one with vibration with it. The design is similar to PS controller but more comfortable of the direction buttons design. The vibration feature brings you a great game playing experience! I personally love this controller so much and it works on all of my PC games which support gamepad use.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: Best gamepad for pc gamers.

Weakness: Few games support the rumble feature. Though more may follow.

This is hands down the best gamepad for pc gamers who want to use the same easy to use controls of a console for the games that need analog input. The rumble feature gives you an enhanced gaming experience.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: No notable latency... responds just like the corded version. Great battery life. Batteries lasted me about 2 months. Awesome range. Good support for sports games. Good software

Weakness: Not all buttons are analog, just the joysticks. Doesn't come with rechargable batteries/charger

This controller is great, I have now purchased my second Rumblepad 2 because I liked the first one so much. Most EA Games come with the setup for this controller automatically. feels better than the playstation equivalent and has good support thru software for even other games that don't normally let you use gamepads. I recommend the freeware joy2mouse 3 to use this joystick as a wireless mouse too!

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: Many buttons, Great Vibration Feedback, Brand

Weakness: None.

This is an awesome PC game controller that has great vibration feedback and lots of buttons to play most modern games comfortably. The vibration feedback provides great feel for bumps and hits and works very nicely. The controller is ergonomic and feels light and comfortable in the hand. Buttons are well placed. Overall a very nice controller from Logitech.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: Very comfortable in hands. Heavy, but in a good way. Excellent layout.

Weakness: Hard to configure all of the buttons. It doesn't work exactly right with many games I play even after spending hours configuring it through Logitech Gaming Software.

It is, no doubt, a great controller for some games, but I am very disappointed. Logitech boasts a great number of premade game profiles on their website, but none of them work as they should. One example: When I play Splinter Cell, Sam can only walk, not run. On the PS2, how far you push the analog stick differentiates your speed. With this gamepad, I'm stuck walking until I scroll the mouse wheel! I've spent hours looking up support and trying to configure it, but I can't figure it out.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: Well made, responsive.

Weakness: Support from game developers

The only gripe I have so far is that I can't get Halflife 2 to support the right stick so it's difficult to find a good ergonomic setup for this game. I hope that this is a rare occurrence the other hand, Madden 2005 and Nascar work great.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: The controlpad is easy to setup with Windows XP (nearly no hassle whatsoever). It has been compatible with every sports game that I have tried (not necessarily so with the rumble effect).

Weakness: The rumble effect does not work with every game. The analog pad feels a bit flimsy.

I am fully satisfied with this control pad. The range of the wireless pad is fantastic. The response time in games is superb. The generous number of buttons is sure to please any gamer. The PS2-style layout is sure to please console gamers. I use this control strictly for sports games, as first person shooters are still ruled by mouse and keyboard. The build quality and heft of the pad is impressive. The only major weakness was the feel of the analog pad.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: Very comfortable to hold. Good Battery life.

Weakness: Some compability problems with Logitech's own Freedom 2.4 Cordless Joystick. The key mapping function no longer works after I attached both a Cordless rumblepad 2 and a Freedom 2.4 Cordless joystick.

I bought this gamepad because I play the MAME emulation games a lot and my existing Logitech Freedom Joystick was not suitable for most of the MAME action games. This gamepad was very easy to install. The built-in mode switch button can let you switch directional control from analog joystick to D-pad or vice-versa without modifying any software configurations, wich makes this gamepad a better choice when compared with the Logitech Dual Action gamepad.

The battery life is pretty good. I used this gamepad for at least 10 hours up till now and I'm still using the orginal AA batteries included.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: Fantastic response. Better drivers than Xbox USB controller.

Weakness: Slightly larger and more cumbersome than PS2 controller its modeled after.

Definately recommend this controller. Maximun PC gave this a 9 which prompted me to try it out. Its definately worth the money as its much nicer than the Saitek wireless pad. Go for it.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: Duracell batteries included. Quick software installation then was ready to use. Good range and a nice solid feel. Adequate vibration feedback. No lag and compatable with all of our games.

Weakness: None, best gamepad controller we have purchased.

Upon opening the box I was pleased to see that it included Duracell batteries, not some funky name batteries with a questionable lifespan. Following a brief software installation and connecting the USB unit, the controller was ready for use. We have used the controller with a number of games without problems. We've experienced no lag with good range (maintained control for over 30', too far to see the screen). The controller has a nice solid feel and adequate vibration feedback. I highly recommed the controller. Best gamepad controller we have owned.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: Well built and sturdy

Weakness: Not supported by enough games

I've come to like the gamepad after a year and a half of games like Unreal Tournament and Mechassault on Xbox Live. I bought this controller to be an alternative to keyboard and mouse for PC based first person shooters. I was a bit disappointed to learn that many first person shooters do not support game pads. Aside from that, the Rumblepad seems to be well built and feels comfortable in your hands. I'd recommend it.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: Good shape design, very comfortable to hold. Solid construction. Wireless signal sensitity is pretty good.

Weakness: The D-pad part of this product is not very good, not very accurate and needs calibration from time to time. The vibration feedback function is not supported by all games.

I bought this item from CompUSA two days ago, I'm pretty happy with this product so far. It has very good construction and the weight of this product is more comfortable to hold than my previous Saitek P880.

I feel this is almost the best gamepad I've ever used. However, it's still not prefect, I'm not happy with the following two items.

1. The D-pad is bad. Not easy to press one of the eight directions accuractly.

2. Although the vibration feedback feedback function works when you are in the test mode, I still haven't find a game that supports this function. I.E. you can not get vibration feedback if the game you are playing does support it.

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: Is a great controller, I am very happy with it. No lag at all. No interference with wireless devices.

Weakness: Vibration weaker than wired gamepad. Lack of throttle controll.

I was concerned about interference with my wifi or wireless camera baby monitor. But there was no interference at all.

I bought it to replace a wingman rumblepad, and the vibration function of the wired one was much stronger than this one. But I guess this is a limitation due to power consumption fo the batteries. The Wingman Rumblepad had a throttle control that was very handy for flight simulator games (very usefull when you dont want to have a big joystick in your desktop)

Logitech Cordless Rumblepad 2

Strengths: This controller is well built and fits great in your hand (even smaller ones). Wireless range is very good - I could go at least 25 feet without any problems. No noticable lag on controls.

Weakness: None so far.

Yet another quality product from Logitech. This controller has a great quality feel to it and is very responsive. Battery life is rated to be about 100 hours which is excellent for a wireless device with rumble (i.e. vibration motors). This is a must have for anyone that plays PC games on a large screen hi-res display. Sit back without messy wires and have some fun!
