This thing has everything

Strengths: Every kind of pocket and storage space imaginable, and it's pretty stylish looking too.

Weakness: Shoulder strap doesn't have much padding.

This thing easily fits my 17" Compaq laptop. The main compartment includes a divider, and one side holds the laptop, and the other side has plenty of room for the battery charger and my mouse, and even my external hard drive. The front compartment can hold pens, calculators, PDA, cables, adapters, and anything else you'd want to fit in the nice little pockets. Also, there are side pockets for a cell phone and a water bottle. You will definitely not run out of space with this model!

Also, I like the style of the thing. It might be a little too casual for a business professional, but it's nice looking for a college student.

My only complaint is that the bag gets HEAVY with all of that stuff in it, and I wish it had a more comfortable shoulder strap. But it does have a handle as well, for when your shoulder gets tired, and you just want to carry it.

UPDATE: Almost 3 years later, I'm still using this thing. I've made lots of trips with the bag and it's really stood the test of time.

TARGUS CITYGEAR MIAMI MESSENGER NOTEBOOK CASE...

Strengths: Well-manufactured. Stylish. Diversified storage options for accessories.

Weakness: None so far.

Rugged enough to withstand the use & abuse of my young son. Have always used Targus cases for all my family's laptops (4 total). Highly recommend any Targus product as I've always been satisfied with them.

Review laptop bag TCG200 by TARGUS

Strengths: Provides good protection, enough space to carry a 17" laptop, light weight, cell phone bag, plenty of space for paperwork, notepads, and pens, easy to carry.

Weakness: Can't think of any. This bag has all I need.

Previously I borrowed the same bag from a friend. I used it and liked it. When I bought my new 17" screen Dell laptop PC recently, I chose this bag to carry around. In addition to its protection for the equipment, its light weight, interior space, exterior dimension and appearance, separate cell phone bag, all the features provide exactly what I need. I used it on a trip and I love it! It is easy to carry, esay to access when passing security check in airports, esay to fit in standard plane compartments.

Product Review: TARGUS CITYGEAR MIAMI MESSENGER...

Strengths: Holds 17" laptops comfortably, plenty of storage space for accessories, very comfortable to carry.

Weakness: Styling may not be for everyone.

I've had this case for a couple days and I love it more than two other cases I've had so far. It's extremely well padded (0.5") on all sides of the main compartment (which actually measures at 2.5" internally). What's cool is that the main compartment actually has another 0.5" of space on the other side of the padding that it fits my laptop and cooling station without bulging (awesome). There's also a nifty little Velcro dividing strip that can be used to lock down a 15" laptop if you need it but let's face it, the only reason you're buying this case is because you've got a monstrous 17" widescreen so why bother, lol.

There are pockets everywhere for small accessories. The biggest pocket on the back is good for paper or folders but that's about it; You wouldn't want something hard banging on your leg while you carry it. Your larger accessories (power supply, external hard drive, etc.) can be stored on the backside of the front flap, which unzips out on both sides, an excellent idea that takes some the stress off of bulging accessories.

This case also comes with a cell phone holder for bar style cell phones, which I doubt anyone will use. If you needed a cell phone holder, you've probably already got one, lol. I took it off and used the strap to hook a CD wallet full of music and games to it.

The strap is not as uncomfortable as everyone makes it out to be. My bag full-up tips the scales at 30lbs and carry's just fine. If you really hate the strap, you can always slice it off and buy an aftermarket one.

It's a little hard to classify the exact target audience for this product. The styling is most suitable for either college students with lots of room for extra stuff or gamers with lots of accessories (that's me). It's definitely too laid back for business folks. (It's got a freakin mesh waterbottle holder!)

Great notebook case for 17

Strengths: Fits 17" notebook securely, padding for shock resistance, large space for storage of many things, ease to carry especially in air travel.

Weakness: Price is little bit high, I am worried about the strength and holding heavy loads.

This is a good bag for 17" laptops. After a through review of all the bags and deals for them, I found targus miami messenger bag a good choice. It has many compartments for your variety of storage ranging from water bottle to cell phone. It is a good official bag except color combination. This should be complete black. The holding/picking features (like neck stripe and handle) are not good and should be changed. It should become more stronger to sustain load, however I didn't find any breakage yet.
In all, I will rate it 3.5 out of 5. But if the price falls to $30, I will rate it as 4.5 out of 5.

Great Case for Price

Strengths: Compartments for everything--good cushioning for notebook.

Weakness: A little bulky and the shoulder strap lacks solid padding if you really fill the case.

It is a very good case for the price--can't beat it, especially if you like a lot of compartments for various things. I would most likely buy it again.

Targus CityGear Carrying Case for 17" Notebook -...

Strengths: Well made, easy to use, works perfectly with 17" Macbook Pro

Weakness: maybe too many compartments

Ilike this laptop case a lot. Its very easy to get stuff in and out of and provides a decent level of protection for carrying purposes. Maybe a few too many compartments for my taste - but Im very happy with it. Nice design. Easy to carry

Good not great

Strengths: Holds everything you can imagine. Fairly attractive.

Weakness: A bit big and clunky. The buckle in the front does not get tight enough.

This bag has a pocket for every imaginable device. I find it a bit bulky because I usually don't fill it up. It is also a very good value.

Good Case

Strengths: Many pockets for accessories Holds 17" notebooks

Weakness: Shoulder straps not sturdy with heavy loads

The storage provided by this bag is superb, though the shoulder strap can become uncomfortable with a heavy load. The case itself has plenty of padding to protect your notebook and pockets for tons of cables and peripherals. It's well worth the $40 I paid!

Great notebook case from Targus

Strengths: sporty look with plenty of space for storage

Weakness: it is a little bulky looking

The bag can hold up to 17" laptops. It comes with a useful xtra space that can hold an additional laptop. Has a sporty look with black yellow and gray colors. Very reasonable price for 24 dollars
