Great Quality, Easy Expandability

Strengths: Voice Quality, Signal Strength

Weakness: None

I purchased this to replace an older technology 2-line cordless phone that didn't have the range to cover my entire house and had declining quality. I am very pleased with this phone. It has all of the features I could want. One great bonus is that the expansion handsets are very reasonably priced, since they are the same generic handsets all of the Uniden systems now use. It is the 2-line base that programs the handset to become a 2-line handset. Thus, I don't have to spend a fortune to extend my system.

Finally a Quality 2 Line Digital Phone that Works...

Strengths: Two phone lines, 5.8 GHz frequency, Caller ID with Name, Conferencing, no answering machine

Weakness: Telephone cord is too long for when mounting on wall.

I have this phone mounted on the kitchen wall (looks great). Included telephone cord is too long -- bought a 3" one locally for 99 cents. In another room I have a VOIP adapter plugged into the home wiring with a two line splitter so that both lines will work with the existing home wiring; be sure to disconnect your home wiring from the land-line phone company before doing this. The caller ID with name, voice mail, and conferencing between both lines work just as expected. Calls are crystal clear.

I like the fact that it doesn't have an answering machine -- this way it won't compete with voice mail when someone calls. The 5.8 GHz frequency doesn't interfere with my 2.4 GHz wireless router.

Great 2-line phone, but it does NOT contain an...

Strengths: Intuitive 2-line operation, good sound, decent range, 5.8ghz is WiFi friendly, Mute function (good for telecon's), "do not disturb" function shuts off ringer, backlit btns & scn, easy to add handsets

Weakness: Less-than-obvious indicator when the other line is put on Hold (prone to being applied accidentally) Does NOT contain an answering machine function (PriceGrabber's error).

Despite what PriceGrabber lists, this unit does NOT contain an ANSWERING MACHINE, so don't expect one. It's PriceGrabber's error, so I'm not going to ding this phone's rating for it. I bought one expecting the answering machine and was very disappointed it does not have one - I still kept the phone though. It has a VOICEMAIL INDICATOR function so that if you subscribe to the phone company's voice mail service, it will show when you have messages on the phone company's system. It doesn't seem that Uniden makes a 2-line wireless phone base with answering machine (too bad), though they do make a wired one that you can add wireless handsets to.

Other than the lack of an answering machine, I am thoroughly happy with this phone. Sound quality is decent. Nice intuitive design for the most part. Has a nice feel of a well designed product. Battery life is better than I expected. I get several days of time between recharges with normal use (less than a week though). This is OK for me. I've been using it for a couple months now and I do recommend this phone.

Good featured 2-line cordless

Strengths: Intercom between handsets, 5.8Ghz frequency, Customized handset naming, relatively inexpensive handsets

Weakness: Orange display, long initial battery charge (15-20 hours), not all menu choices documented

I've been looking for a 5.8Ghz 2-line phone that wouldn't break the bank and this is it. ~$100 after rebate. Handsets are standardized for Uniden so extra sets can be easily bought in the future. The handsets can be named for easy intercom use.

I did have to return first unit - it had scratchy background static. Second unit works fine.

Great Phone

Strengths: Crystal clear on speakerphone as well as handsets Nice distance signal strength and works with my voicemail for message alerts

Weakness: no corded base. all the models i have tried that came with a corded base (AT&T, Panasonic and RCA) were terrible and fell apart in less than a year.

This phone has the best sound of all the phones i have either owned or used. i can't say how it will last over time however it is a more user friendly phone (after initial setup) than the panasonic 2 line or the AT&T. I have also noticed the 5.8 GHz frequency band this phone uses has a much better range and less interference with other electronics (microwave, wireless internet connections).

I have a question about the Caller ID on this phone system. Does the incoming all notification interupt your current call? We are having this problem with our current system and are looking for a system that this does not happen on.

I have the previous model which has several major problems. First, the phone itself does not ring until the callers third ring on their end; when the other line rings the notification tones cuts out the other line you're on; and the headset jack audio quality is horrible.

Other than that I love this phone, but these problems are enough to toss the unit. I am wondering if the latest generation has these same problems?

When I called Uniden to see what the problem could be I was blown off and told too bad and that I needed to take it back. And since they were "undocumented" bugs it was not eligible for service repair or return. I had waited for over a month for Uniden to get back to me so the return period with store I got it at was over and had to keep it. BUT this is the best of all Cordless 2-line phones available at the moment. So . . . If these problems are fixed, I'd like to update my current system. Even though Uniden were real *sses about this. But then I did cause them to lose a multi-million dollar contract. So I feel even. So I'm willing to give them a second chance.

Anyone run into these problems with the TRU9466?

Any assistance will be greatly appreciated.

Uniden TRU9466

Strengths: Easily expandible 2-line phone system with great voice quality at a reasonable price.

Weakness: None so far.

I was originally going to purchase a Panasonic, but then I saw this in a store and it had all the features I wanted (an answering machine was not necesary) at a lower price. Expansion handsets are less than half the price of the panasonic I was considering. You only need one set of phone lines to connect the master unit to making it unnecessary to rewire for each expansion unit. It has great clarity of speech compared to my previous cordless phones. While it does take 20 hours to charge each unit, the charge for quite a while. I have 3 additional handsets (a total of 4 phones), and after you initialize them each unit has a number which appears on the display. I have had no problems with any of the units so far.
