WPC300N

Strengths: High connectivity speeds

Weakness: None.

This is this fastest wireless card I've owned. It makes a hard wired network look slow. Very pleased with the software and connection abilities while traveling. Works well with major hotel accesses.

Nice draft-N card.

Strengths: Very easy to install. Excellent connectivity.

Weakness: The included management software didn't work as well as plain Windows XP wireless management.

bought this card to use with my ThinkPad because the included on-board Intel adapter was very flaky, constantly dropping the connection, as well as having other problems. I have a Linksys draft-N wireless router and other machines had no problems staying connected, so I knew it was the chip.

Installing the card and driver was very simple. I've had excellent connectivity since starting to use it.

My only complaint would be with the LinkSys management software. It kept getting confused after I brought the laptop out of standby or hibernate. Switching to using the Windows XP management software fixed that.

Works great!

Strengths: Fast, strong wireless N technology. Nice Design. Works great.

Weakness: A tiny bit bigger than the wireless G WPC54G.

Setup was amazingly simple. All you have to do is install the software then plug this thing in. After that, setting this up was a breeze. The software scans for local networks, you input your settings, and then you connect. Couldn't be any simpler.

Because it's wireless N it also features strong 256-bit encryption up to WPA2. It works just fine with other Linksys products. Currently I am using it with a WRT300N router, which is located across the house. Even 3 floors down, I still can be connected just fine to the router (which is amazing, compared to the very small and weak signal of my previous Linksys WRT54G router).

I have not tried setting this up on a Vista laptop, yet. In that scenario, I imagine all that will be needed is new drivers.

I have no problems at all connecting to wireless G networks with this. I use this to connect to the public wireless G network at Penn State on a pretty much daily basis, and have yet to have problems.

The only downside to this device is that it is ever-so-slightly bigger than its WPC54G predecessor. Other than that, a great buy. I would definitely recommend this.

Linksys Wireless-N WPC300N Notebook Adapter

Strengths: Easy installation and Setup, speed

Weakness: None so far

My wireless b router just went out, so I had to decide whether to dole out the cash for a pre-spec N model, or just get a g model. The lack of range of the g routers made me go ahead with this one and I have no regrets, although I haven't had a chance to check out the new range yet. Setup was easy, and I used it with the b air card for a week before getting the n card. Needless to say, the n card is much faster for transfers between computers on your own network, although the difference is less dramatic for DSL connections. In fact, for things like surfing the web, I don't really notice much of a difference at all.

N-Card

Strengths: Transfer rate is much better than other bands available.

Weakness: None so far

I switched from my G-router to an N-router for the speed increase, which is significant over G-band products. It makes surfer the web and downloading large files much easier and saves a ton of time. I like to transfer Tivo video files onto my laptop to view at work and the G-band products take far too long to send them. I used to leave the laptop running overnight to do this and now I don't have to. Such a deal....

The Funky Color Speed Demon

Strengths: SPEED SPEED SPEED! It's fast! It installed easily! It works properly!

Weakness: It's a bit bigger than its predecessor.

Did I mention it's FAST? We connect to the matching Linksys Draft N router at 130 Mbps, which is faster than the 100 Mbps Net in our building.

This adapter installed first time using the provided wizard. It locks on to the wireless net like it's supposed to.

I haven't had to use Linksys Customer service, which is good, since we now live in Beijing.

All in all a winner.
