PC850

Strengths: Nice to be wirelss

Weakness: Difficult to keep working day after day.

Got this to use with the HT820 headset and MPX220 phone. Got it to pair successfully to both devices but is VERY tempermental. I get into the office in the morning and some days it takes 20 minutes to get audio thru my headset. When it does work, it works great. I can listen to my music without worrying about tangled wires and if my phone rings, I can answer it with the headset. I found out the other day that I can't seem to get any audio when playing Quicktime files. For a short time I had to go into my audio properties and switch it from the Bluetooth High Quality Audio back to the MB's default audio output.
It's been a real pain. Seems there are NO NEW drives out and the one it comes with is circa 2004? It's like Moto quit with the adapter. But I did call their tech support and a nice gentleman listened to my ills but was unable to answer any of my questions. Don't pay a lot for this adapter and it is what it is. I had the DC800 before the PC850 and it was much simpiler to set up and use. Only you can't use it to sync your phone with your computer like the adapter. If it's just music you want to listen to, the DC800 is way better.

Motrola Bluetooth PC850

Strengths: Prompt order confirmation, fast low price shipping

Weakness: none

I ordered a Motorola BLUETOOTH PC850 for my Dell XPS laptop. Setup was as easy as Bluetooth can be and my Motorola wireless earpiece and Motorola phone connected. Motorola does guarrente all their equippment is compatible. That is the main reason for getting Motorola PC adapter and not a cheaper off brand.

Best bluetooth adapter I have owned to date!

Strengths: High quality, high compatability, great software, stirdy, dust cap, A2DP, and thourough manual.

Weakness: None.

The Motorola PC850 USB Bluetooth adapter is the best bluetooth adapter that I used to this date. Between it's ease of installation to the sturdiness of the unit itself. The manual is well written and thourough so I had no problems following all of it. Being A2DP compliant makes this item great for listening to music wirelessly. Overall it's another great specimen created by the minds at Motorola.

great USB BT adaptor

Strengths: plug-n-play, supports multiple BT profiles. AD2P stereo

Weakness: Seems support only BT1.1, not the higher bitrate bt2.0 unlike it's competitor jabra A320s. More expensive.

I paired this with motorola DC800 to stream music from PC to my home stereo, works great, good sound quality. Though the bluethooth sometimes gets in the way of WiFi, especially I am using a laptop with WiFi.

Also tried to use this to connect to my cell phone, works without any problem just like a serial cable. Though the bandwidth is limited to BT1.1.

The software comes with the product is from WiComm, from Broadcom? it's outdated, and Motorola didn't provide an online newer version. When paired to a BT headphone or DC800, it automatically changes the PC's default audio to itself. So you lose any local sound. The easy solution is go to Control Panel to change the audio option back to the sound card of PC, and use the music player's output setting to stream to BT devices.

My understanding is this also comes as a package for Skype Certified VOIP package, otherwise, the suggested retail price is way too much, $99, the better Jabra USB adaptor can be had at $35 at stores.

Motorola PC 850

Strengths: Easy to install hardware and software, attachable dust cap, quick data transfers, range of about 300 feet.

Weakness: None yet.

I just received this unit today and hooked it quickly. I purchased the unit mainly to transfer photos/videos/music between my cell phone and desktop computer. I just plugged it in today and emptied my phone of all the photos that were taking up most of the memory. It took under 3 minutes to transfer more than 60 photos and a couple of videos. All of these transfers went without incident and so far I am very pleased with this purchase.
I have not purchased speakers, but I plan to then I can really test the range. Overall a very good product and I recommend spending the few dollars extra to get something this one, most of the less expensive ones had ranges of only 32 feet so if you are planning to hook up speakers far from your computer (possibly in other rooms of your house) make sure you buy a CLASS 1 unit like this one. Class 1 refers to about 300 feet of range whereas class 2 refers to about 30 feet of range. Make sure you do your homework to get the right product for you.

Works as adveritsed

Strengths: Easy to install and connect devices Small

Weakness: still learning to reconnect after rebooting - not as seamless as I thought it would be - still learning I guess

I have the Motorola stereo headphones and this adapter has high quality audio drivers for the good stereo as well as allowing me to sync my Motorola KRZR phone to my computer for managing the phone.

I would buy this adapter again.

Motorola PC850

Strengths: High Quality. A2DP compliant (great for audio music). Works with the new HT820 (which I love).

Weakness: I've heard that drivers can't be located on the website, so make sure to keep that installation cd safe.

Overall it is a great item. High quality. Compared to most bluetooth devices, it is on the higher priced end, but it's worth it. It does more (A2DP compliant - high quality audio), allowing not only pc applications, but also interactive music and phone usage. If you are planning on doing any sort of music listening from your computer, this is a great item.

HT820 BT Dongle

Strengths: compact

Weakness: difficult to set up. Required to contact Motorola tech support.

This was very difficult to set up. The directions stop after successfully pairing the device. I will be contacting Motorola support and review Microsoft site to verify BT support for Windows Media Player.

above average product

Strengths: A2DP (stereo capability) small

Weakness: short range

I bought this bluetooth dongle specifically for its A2DP capability, which is what's required to connect with bluetooth stereo headsets. There are not many A2DP adapters out there, and this was the only one I could find locally. The installation went smoothly, just as described in the manual. The included software made pairing easy to accomplish.

I was, however, disappointed by the limited range of the connection. I am able to roam about > 30 feet through several layers of wall using my Linksys class 1 adapter. I suspect that this Motorola is a class 2.

Don't lose the included driver CD. You can't download it from Motorola site.
