Excellent Mouse!!!!

Strengths: Hassleless Connectivity & Installation!! I just plug in the USB in to my new Dell Laptop and inserted two Batteries provided in the box and turned ON the mouse button and it Started Working Instantly

Weakness: Only EMail & IM Lights does not work! but not a big deal.

Hi All

I bought this Logitech MX610 LASER Mouse 2 days back and I am enjoying its features like anything.

Let me tell you that all the Functionalities that it has mentioned in its Features works Perfectly except Notification Lights!!!! thats not big deal!!

For me Email also worked and Messenger also worked fine. I can even program the mouse buttons to launch my favorite programs . i can configure the EMail Icon to open either Yahoo/Hotmail/GMail/..anything and similarly I can even set the IM Icon to open Yahoo Messanger/MSN Chat/ICQ/anything as long as it has installed on your system.
They have given the CD which you can set it to open / launch any program with any of 10 buttons.

i love the Volume Control buttons and Backward/Forwards feature.
Since it has Power On/Off button I just turn it Off when i don't use it. Just one click. It fits so firmly in my hand and i have medium size hands but it fits big hands also.

Using its SW you can configure anything virtually very easily without needing to read the Manual also.

I am very much satisfied with this product. It works almost from 15-20 ft away from the system.

I HIGHLY RECOMMEND THIS PRODUCT TO BUY...

WHAT A MOUSE

Strengths: COMFORTABLE AND FITS TO HAND, EASE OF BUTTON FUNCTIONS, ON/OFF WITH POWER OF PC

Weakness: CAN'T THINK OF ANY

I PURCHASED THIS MOUSE AT A BLOWOUT PRICE OF $29.99 AT BEST BUY. ORIGINALLY I PURCHASED THE V200 BUT RETURNED IT AND CAME HOME WITH THIS ONE. NO COMPARISON...MORE FUNCTIONS, CONTOURED TO HAND AND HAS FUNCTION BUTTONS THAT ARE EASYILY AVAILABLE. I PURCHASED A CASE FOR 94 CENTS AT WALMART AND THE MOUSE EASILY SLIDES INTO IT AND FITS PERFECTLY IN MY LAPTOP CASE. FIRST WIRELESS MOUSE I'VE EVER HAD AND THANKS TO LOGITECH'S PRICE AND FUNCTIONS, I'M SURE THERE WILL BE MORE TO COME. BUT FOR NOW, THIS IS A MOUSE THAT I PLAN TO HAVE FOR A LONG TIME TO COME!

I love it, but.....

Strengths: Very precise, easy to use, a lot of nice features.

Weakness: The email and IM notifications are not working as of now.

Well...I have had this mouse for about 3 days, installed it at work and home. I love it because its great for everything, which includes work and games. However, I have tried to setup the email and IM notifications, and they are not working. I just hung up with a technical support rep at Logitech, and he is stumped (having me walked me throught the basic setup). He explained that it was so new that the software may not support those feature yet (HUH!!!). He also said that there are no software downloads. He just said that I have to wait for some updates before that feature will work.. I hope it will.

Nice Mouse

Strengths: Light and quick laser mouse

Weakness: Multi performance is not a big deal. Price is still high.

I liked this mouse since it was OK for the notebook since it had a small adaptor. And it was light because it did not use recharge battery. The shape was very comfortable to handle. But its wake up reaction was not quick when it went sleep. Sometimes you had to push the on/off switch to reconnect the mouse. The multi performance was not very strong as I expected. And it was fine for such new laser mouse. The price was still high in compare with other Logitech laser Mouses.

Great Design, sub-par technology

Strengths: • One of the best ergonomic mouse designs as of yet • Lots of useful buttons, all in the right place • Sleep mode brings great battery life • Not too heavy nor too light -a good weight

Weakness: • IM and Email lights do not function with most current software • L & R Buttons could have a softer & shorter "click"

I am a Graphic / Web designer, who does some light gaming (Farcry, Unreal 2004, Halo, Age of Mythology) and was in the market for a new mouse. I was looking at the Logitech G5, which is in the same price range. But when testing the G5, it felt very plasticy, and was not very ergonomic, but I felt the MX610, and was in heaven. The mouse installation was effortless, but I immediately experienced the non-functioning IM & Email lights (just like most people who purchased this mouse)

I hope that Logitech spends the time to write a better driver, and fix these small issues. If this happens, I would definitely give 5 stars for the MX610!

A good mouse and an excellent price

Strengths: Comfortable, Good battery life and excellent side buttons.

Weakness: IM and mail features are not fully supported

This is the third wireless mouse I have purchased and compared to the MX 700 it is a better mouse. Although the IM features don’t work with AOL and also couldn't get the Mail feature to work yet I still find this mouse more reliable than the MX 700 because the rechargeable connectors on the MX 700 become defective within a year. I know because I had two of them. The MX610 uses regular AA batteries that last a long time and the auto shut off feature prolongs the battery life significantly. I definitely recommend this mouse and enjoy the way it was designed. Highly recommended!

A Fantastic Mouse! Highly Recommended!

Strengths: 10 buttons!!, very comfortable fit for righties, smooth scrollwheel, excellent placement of buttons, sleeps when your computer does, *tiny* receiver

Weakness: not rechargeable, receiver does not stow inside the mouse, cannot set the mouse to automatically sleep, a little heavier than a wired mouse

This is really a great mouse which I would highly recommend. First, the 10 programmable buttons are very well-placed and provide excellent tactile feedback. Notably, the forward and back buttons are fantastic. The Logitech engineers really got button placement right on this mouse.

One of the coolest features of this mouse is that it "reads" when your computer shuts down, goes into standby, etc. and turns itself off to conserve batteries. One of the biggest drawbacks of wireless mice is that many are not rechargeable, and this computer detection feature is a brilliant idea. It's unbelievable that all wireless mice don't have this feature.

The mouse has 2 buttons that are supposed to tie into your email and IM clients, and light up if you receive a new email or an IM. Unfortunately, it does not work with every IM or email client (i.e. AOL IM, Google Talk, Thunderbird). I hope future versions of the SetPoint software work with more clients, but this feature seems to be more fluff than function (I just reprogrammed those 2 buttons to do something more useful).

The only reason I gave this 4 stars is that there is apparently a manufacturing defect in some of the mice that makes the right mouse button "stick." I had to return the mouse twice (the 3rd one worked) in order to get a mouse that didn't have this problem. I spoke with Logitech CS and they had not heard about this problem, but some people complained about this problem on the Logitech bulletin boards. If you get a defective mouse, definitely return it because the non-defective "version" is fantastic.

Overall, a great mouse and a great buy

Logitech MX610

Strengths: Excellent tracking, ease of pairing, battery power saving features

Weakness: A bit small for my hand

This is the best of all the wireless mice I have used (many). The two-way communication (mouse receives as well as sends) gives it unique power saving and notification features.

A Nice Mouse at Affordable Price

Strengths: Comfortable, precise

Weakness: None til now

This mouse is comfortable and precise. It fits my hand perfectly. I basically don't need those frills like email notifications so I cannot comment on that. Batteries last longer in this mouse than in MX700. The battery chamber isn't as easy to access as in MX700 though.

A very nice mouse

Strengths: perfect size for my big hand, many buttons for various functions

Weakness: a little delay when active the computer, two funcions do not work well

I have been using Logitech mice for more than 10 years, several big mice. Because my hands are a little bigger than other girl-hands, I always use big mice. This mouse is much more comfortable than other big Logitech's that I have ever used. There's a dent for the thumb, and a little gradient at the top. The most comfortable mouse I've ever used! Eight buttons for various functions. So you can do a lot of operations very conveniently! LCD indicator for the energy.

The IM and Email indicators don't work well. At first, they worked. But after a while, they did nothing. I set them again and again, but still don't work now. Whenever I wake up my computer, this mouse needs a couple of additional seconds to be waken up.

I don't think the power button is useful. When I plug the receiver, I can't turn off the mouse, and when I unplug the receiver, I can't turn on it.

I haven't try games, so can't say very much for the accuracy of localizer. But for the daily operations, this mouse is excellent. I love it very much!

LOGITECH MX610 LASER CDLS-2.4GHZ USB

Strengths: Very stylish, great responsiveness, great smooth feel, and easy to configure. The features I really like the most are email, IM notification buttons, and the battery indicator alert.

Weakness: Right-Handed Only

This is my first wireless mouse I have purchased. It was a difficult decision. At first, I was planning to get the bluetooth mouse (Logitech MX900 Cordless). Until a friend of mine mention this moouse to me. I tried it out, and was blown away on what this mouse can do. And I made the right decision choosing this mouse. I really recommend this mouse if you're looking for a wireless.

Logitech MX610 Laser Mouse

Strengths: Great features and accurate motion. Battery life is long

Weakness: not rechargeable

This mouse was easy to setup and get up and running for basic functions. The IM & Email options are a little tricky and hard to set-up. It's not a true gaming mouse, but it serves its purpose for a non-hardcore gamer like myself.

excellent mouse

Strengths: Very comfortable, accurate, fast, good price, works on any surface

Weakness: none

Logitech is my favorite brand, and it always has the most enjoyable product. This is an amazing mouse, the first “laser” one I ever have. I will never go back to “optical” mouse again. Very easy setup, just plug in and it works. Volume (mute) control button is convenient. It is worth the price. Highly recommended!

MX610 Good Buy

Strengths: Wireless connectivity fast and reliable, nice fit in hand

Weakness: volume controls on left side of mouse are a bit hard to locate

Overall a good value, I just have a bit of a hard time finding the volume buttons easily and they are rather small, however I don't use them much. Otherwise, no complaints

Crappy mouse...1st bad review..wow

Strengths: laser, side scroll, back and forward page skip thing...battery life is great

Weakness: laggy, glitchy, does not work properly...has poor range

This has to be hands down the worst mouse I ever owned...including my ball mouse. It keeps on lagging, skips when I move it..when stuff loads mostly. The battery life is great...6 days without it getting weaker. Not much of a fan for wireless mice either but oh well...even though I only paid 20$ on sale at Staples for this mouse I'm still not happy with it

This Mouse Stinks

Strengths: None

Weakness: Very unresponsive and terrible wireless reception.

Tried this new wireless mouse based on 2.4ghz wireless frequency and it's the worst I've ever seen. I'm used to my Microsoft optical wireless with a little receiver that connects via USB and sits semi-near the mouse itself. It works great and with pin-point accuracy. This mouse is laser and has very poor accuracy and frequently jumps around the screen. I'll never buy a laser mouse again, esp. not this one.

Super-Mouse!

Strengths: So many buttons and features, it is like having a small control panel in front on you.

Weakness: I am not sure if the email and IM buttons light up or not. The latest setpoint for this mouse is worse than the earlier versions.

The mouse has been my best buy. I love using it. Will buy another for my laptop soon.
The only problem is the setpoint software you get with the mouse. The latest version 3.11 is the worst! It does not allow you to configure the email and IM buttons. The best version is the earlier version 2.41 avilable at: ftp://ftp.logitech.com/pub/techsupport/mouse/
Now I have set up my Email button to instead open firefox and the IM to open 'my documents' instead. And with a big green customizable message that tells me it is opening it up. Just try it!

Outstanding percision and comfort

Strengths: This mouse has 10 buttons, very comfortable, great tracking, and look very nice.

Weakness: Back and forward buttons woudnt work in mozilla at first but i figured it out, change the buttons to generic with the provided setpoint program, and everything works perfectly.

Great mouse i went about 30 feet away and the mouse still functions, amazing. Love all the buttons they allow me to do everything without even moving my hand off the mouse.
A must buy, and once you go wireless youll never go back.
