Hitachi Travelstar E7K60 HTE726060M9AT00 60 GB...Strengths: Fast response, impresive access times...quiet. Weakness: Only 60GB limit. I was late to change my actual hard drive (it was 4200rpm) for this one, The computer performance improve around 27% according with SANDRA'05 and PC Mark'05 Benchmarks. I'm very satisfies with this drive, one downside is this the only drive at 7200rpm I can’t find more than 60GB (good 80Gb or 100GB) 100% of readers found this review helpful. Hitachi Travelstar 60GB Hard DriveStrengths: Fast, Reliable Weakness: None I have had this drive installed in my Dell Inspiron 8100 (4 years old laptop) for over about 1 year. I was in a position where I had to increase my available disk space from the 20 gig drive that came with the Dell. Awesome Drive!!!!Strengths: Fast Weakness: Still gets hot, like my old hard drive One of the best purchases I have made for my laptop, the boot up time has decreased significantly, everything loads up a lot quicker now. Hitachi Travelstar E7K60 HTE726060M9AT00 60 GB...
Strengths: Screaming fast! Good power consumption. Runs very cool. 3 year warranty--I checked my SN on the Toshiba site.
Weakness: None so far.
Makes really light work of my memory intensive applications. Runs much cooler than the 42k Toshiba drive it replaced, with about the same power consumption. I have no complaints. My old drive got damaged, and I had to replace it, so I decided why not go for it. I replaced it with the E7k60 60gb which was a lateral move in terms of capacity, but a much faster drive. I opted for this drive (Enhanced Availability--which I really could care less about--and designed primarily for 24/7 environments) over the 7k60 because my drive was damaged from overheating, so I was looking for a low heat emission drive. The ambient temperature of this drive is almost 60 degrees (F) cooler than both the 7k60 and the Toshiba that it replaced. This drive rocks!
